MLB World Series Picks & Predictions: Dodgers vs. Yankees (Wednesday)
The New York Yankees were the last team in 1996 to overcome an 0-2 deficit in the World Series, and yesterday they took the first step in becoming the only team in 25 tries to win a World Series after trailing 3-0.
Will the Yankees win for a second straight day and send this series back to Los Angeles, or will the Dodgers celebrate their eighth World Series title in franchise history in the Bronx?
Yesterday we turned in +1.65 units of profit with our two MLB player prop picks thanks to Freddie Freemanâs home run, and we are back to continue that momentum today.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+116) @ New York Yankees (-136) | O/U 8 (-120/-102)
When these two teams met in the same matchup of starting pitchers in Los Angeles between Jack Flaherty and Gerrit Cole, the Yankees were +110 underdogs. Granted, New York was one out away in the tenth inning of that game from a 3-2 victory, but should the odds be flipped this much just because of a change of venue?
Oddsmakers have moved the line in New Yorkâs favor because of how Flaherty has performed the second time he has faced a team in a series this postseason. In the first games against the Padres, Mets, and Yankees combined, Flaherty has pitched to a 2.60 ERA with 17:6 K:BB ratio and two home runs allowed. When he faced San Diego and the Mets a second time in the NLDS and NLCS, Flaherty combined to allow 12 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings, with a 2:5 K:BB ratio and three home runs allowed.
Despite all of that, I also expect the Dodgers to be more successful against Yankees ace Gerrit Cole tonight. Cole has not topped four strikeouts in any of his four postseason starts. And the key will be getting him out of the game early, as he has pitched into the sixth inning just twice. That will give Los Angeles plenty of looks at several of New Yorkâs relievers that it has seen nearly every game this series.
History is working against the Yankees, as none of the previous 24 teams that had ever been down 0-3 in a World Series had ever forced a Game 6. Granted, New York has already made history as the first team in franchise history not to get swept in a WS when trailing 0-3, having been swept on the other three such occasions. However, this is still a Dodgers team that has won eight of its last 10 series-clinching games, and I do not expect the Yankees bats to wake up against Flaherty as much as they did when they faced L.A.âs bullpen game in Game 4.
MLB Pick: Dodgers Moneyline (+116)
