CHI @ NE Under 39.5 (-108 on FanDuel)

The Bears possess one of the worst offenses in the NFL, ranking in the bottom 5 in most relevant passing metrics and scoring only 1.55 points per possession, good for 26th best in the league. Because of their inability to throw the football, the Bears have leaned heavily on their rushing attack, having attempted the 4th most rushes in the NFL. Whether it be Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe under center on Monday night, the Patriots have also displayed their commitment to running the football, attempting the 6th most rushes in the league. I expect for the clock to be running for the majority of this game as these teams try to establish the run, ultimately landing the game under the point total and continuing the trend of low-scoring primetime games in 2022 (13-6 to the under).

Patriots -8, Lean u39.5

Just when you think the run of Bill Belichick and the Patriots is over, they find a way to retool and remain competitive. They’ve put together a 7th ranked DVOA defense and looked impressive in shutting down a Cleveland running attack that had their way with almost every opponent they’d played previously. Going up against a hapless Chicago offense with a first year head coach will be a monumental mismatch.

On the other side of the ball, New England goes up against their third straight poor run defense. The Bears rank 27th in run defense DVOA. Rhamondre Stevenson should continue to impress on the ground in this game. With an identity established of running the ball and dominating the trenches, the Patriots will be fine in this matchup regardless who starts for them under center.

Sports Betting Advice and Tools

What is a Moneyline Bet?
The Moneyline is a wager option where sports bettors are betting on who will win the game, with the favored team seeing reduced odds and the underdog receiving increased odds. When it comes to football, the spread is generally the primary betting option for most sports bettors. It’s a little more straightforward in that your win amount is generally the same regardless of which side you pick. However, with the moneyline, you can see a favorite at -130 while the underdog is at +110. This discrepancy is where you can find hidden value as a sports bettor.
