NFL Week 16 Monday Night Football Best Bets

IND +3.5 (-110 at PointsBet)

The Colts have decided to hand the reigns to former Super Bowl MVP-winning MVP Nick Foles for the remainder of the season, who should be considered an upgrade compared to the abysmal QB play that the Colts have been dealing with in 2022. Despite their historic collapse last week, the Colts have shown some nice flashes under the leadership of Jeff Saturday, covering 3 out of 5 games and narrowly missing out on victories against the NFC’s top 2 seeds. In the Chargers 4 road wins this year, the only victory that would have covered this spread came against the lowly Texans. The Colts have the better defense in this matchup, ranking better than the Chargers in passing and rushing YPA and allowing fewer points per possession. I believe that the QB change will give the Colts offense some much-needed juice and allow them to stay within this number against a Chargers team who always seems to be involved in close games.

Michael Pittman (WR – IND): 6+ Receptions (-110 via DraftKings)

Michael Pittman embodied the ‘target hog’ moniker in Week 15 as he hauled in a double-digit reception total for the second time on the season. Although his Week 16 MNF opponent has allowed just 19.2 completions per game this season, Pittman should be in line for another game with heavy usage as a result of the Colts’ quarterback change to Nick Foles.

Foles is one of the more dink-and-dunk-friendly quarterbacks in the league. That blends well with Pittman’s recent usage as Indianapolis has force-fed its best receiver near the line of scrimmage in recent weeks. Though he racked up 10 catches last week, he only finished with 60 yards.

The yardage doesn’t matter for this prop, though. All Pittman needs to do is secure six or more catches, something he’s done successfully in nine of his 13 games played on the season.

Keenan Allen (WR – LAC): OVER 5.5 Receptions (-138 via FanDuel)

Keenan Allen looks to serve as another probable target hog on Monday Night Football. Since returning from an injury that kept him out for a large chunk of the season, the veteran Los Angeles has secured at least five receptions in five straight games.

Allen has cleared the 5.5 receptions mark in his last three games, collecting 20 grabs over his last two contests. Justin Herbert facing a Colts defense that just allowed Kirk Cousins to go 34-for-54 with 460 passing yards is the kind of matchup you want to see for wide receiver props bets. Allen should continue to function as a vacuum for his talented quarterback.

Sports Betting Advice and Tools

What is a Moneyline Bet?
The Moneyline is a wager option where sports bettors are betting on who will win the game, with the favored team seeing reduced odds and the underdog receiving increased odds. When it comes to football, the spread is generally the primary betting option for most sports bettors. It’s a little more straightforward in that your win amount is generally the same regardless of which side you pick. However, with the moneyline, you can see a favorite at -130 while the underdog is at +110. This discrepancy is where you can find hidden value as a sports bettor.
