NBA Same Game Parlay

Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks

The new guys will impact the New York-New York rivalry game tonight.

Mikal Bridges was sent over from the Suns in the Kevin Durant deal. In his debut, Bridges scored 23 points on 18 shots. He nailed 3-of-5 from downtown and earned four foul shoots. He’s now the face of the Nets and will have a ton of volume in this game.

On the other hand, Josh Hart was traded from Portland to the Knicks for Cam Reddish and other assets. Hart played 26 minutes and took six shots. He nailed two of three from downtown and brought seven rebounds in those 26 minutes. As he gets more comfortable with this Knicks team, he’ll fill the box score up even more while earning more minutes.

Hart had 11 points with four steals, four assists, and seven rebounds in 26 minutes. His playing time will increase if he continues performing that kind of performance.

First Basket Scorer

San Antonio Spurs vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

As a 14.5-point favorite with the top-ranked defense against the 28th-ranked defense in Cleveland, I have to go with a Cavalier to score first tonight and that go-to is Darius Garland.

Jarrett Allen has won roughly two-thirds of tips this year and will go up against Zach Collins who is 50/50. Again, even if the Spurs do win the tip, I am not confident in their ability to capitalize early, especially against Cleveland.

Assuming the Cavs do score the first bucket, over half the time they go to one of their guards to score first. I’m not particularly scared of the Spurs stopping either of the Cavs’ backcourt options and Garland is simply a better value than Donovan Mitchell (+340) but I don’t mind throwing half a unit on either option.

Pick: Darius Garland (+550)

NBA Prop Bets

Kyrie Irving OVER 34.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-115)

Dallas has been in the conversation as one of the top teams in the west, but with the acquisition of Irving, they’ve pushed that narrative further.

He has been great since coming over and is averaging 25.6 points in three games.

He gets the Timberwolves, who have been a below-average defense all season. Irving has gone over 34 points/rebounds/assists in 62% of his games this season, including the last two.

We round out the day with our top college basketball bets.

College Basketball Best Bets

College Basketball Game Picks

Miami (FL) vs. North Carolina

With UNC losing three of their last four games, they are in desperate need of getting off the bubble as they look for a win tonight against Miami in Chapel Hill.

When UNC is on, they are dangerous, and we saw that with their 91-point performance against Clemson. They take care of the ball with a preference for scoring in the interior, where Miami allows nearly 55 percent of their opponent’s points to come from. The Hurricanes also struggle on the defensive glass, so even if they are off tonight, UNC should have plenty of second-chance looks.

Miami’s ninth-ranked offense should show out tonight, too, with their ability to score in transition and 66 percent near-proximity shooting expected to show out. Miami ranks 27th in playing away from home, and they are riding a four-game win streak.

Life’s too short to bet the under, right?

NHL Best Bets

NHL Game Picks

Calgary Flames (-146) vs. Ottawa Senators (+122) | O/U 6.5 (-104/-118)

The Flames were busy in the offseason trying to upgrade their offense, but they’ve seen a drop in their Expected Goals Percentage from last year.

The signing of Jonathan Huberdeau has been a disappointment, and he is projected to have just 54 points this season after grabbing 115 last year with the Panthers.

The signing of Nazem Kadri has been great, with 20 goals, but the best of their offense comes from their returning players Elias Lindholm and Tyler Toffoli, each of whom has over 40 points.

The key storyline for the Senators is their goaltending situation. Cam Talbot is already on injured reserve, and now Anton Forsberg will be out for the foreseeable future after suffering MCL tears in both knees.

Mads Sogaard and Kevin Mandolese will be the guys who take over with Sogaard getting the start. He has played in just three NHL games, and this year in the AHL, he’s 6-9-2 with a .898 save percentage.

We’ll likely see Dan Vladar between the pipes, and he’s won five of his last six allowing 2.66 goals. Pair that with a stellar forward going against an inexperienced goalie, and it will be all Flames.

Pick: Flames 60 min ML (+108)
