Toronto Blue Jays @ Houston Astros

I love the 2-3-4 hitters in the Blue Jays lineup tonight. Toronto is facing Ronel Blanco of the Astros, who was horrible last season. Blanco gave up a .210 ISO and wOBA of .357 to 226 batters. He also induced just .34.7% of ground balls and allowed 34.7% of fly balls in those 226 plate appearances.

Blanco can get a bit wild and walk a lot of batters. But ultimately, these three Blue Jays hitters are more aggressive against righties and don’t walk at a super high rate.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a .201 ISO and wOBA of .346 last season, with just 14.7% of strikeouts against righties. He’s already batting .308 this season and has a home run this year.

Bo Bichette hasn’t started the season as hot. Still, he hit a .158 ISO and wOBa of .348 against righties last season while striking out only 20.5% of the time. He’s got an edge as long as he plays in tonight’s game.

Finally, we’ll roll with Justin Turner. He has hit .286 for the Blue Jays so far this season and has one home run with four RBIs in 14 at-bats. Turner also hit a .157 ISO and wOBA of .337 against righties last season.

All three of those players have a long-term track record of hitting bad right-handed pitching.

Boston Celtics @ Charlotte Hornets

Kristaps Porzingis has the highest tip win percentage of the slate tonight. He has won the tip in 78% of games this season, which is one reason why the Celtics have scored the First Basket in 64% of games this season.

Porzingis will face Nick Richards of the Charlotte Hornets, who has only won the tip in 50% of games this season. However, even worse, the Hornets have scored the First Basket in only 38% of games this season.

The Celtics should be the ones to get the ball first and score first.

I’ll be looking at the Celtics’ small forward and center positions. The Hornets have allowed 26% of First Baskets to small forwards and 28% to centers.

That leaves us with Porzingis and Jaylen Brown as the potential First-Basket scorers. Brown and Porzingis have each made the First Basket about 30% of the time. However, Brown has attempted the team’s first field goal in 32% of the time, while Porzingis has only attempted the team’s first field goal in 25% of games.

Brown has a little more of an edge than Porzingis. So let’s take Jaylen Brown to score first at +500 odds.

Bet: Jaylen Brown (+500)

NHL Best Bets

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers

The Rangers are in great form as they look to win the Presidents’ Trophy. They come into this game having won five straight and 10 of their last 12. The underlying 5-on-5 numbers aren’t great, but their top lines are as dangerous as anyone else in the league. Of course, they have a fantastic blue line and goaltending unit.

The Penguins’ season has been marked with inconsistent play, and it recently showed as they blew two third-period multiple-goal leads last week. The offense has been abysmal, with Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby being the only two forwards with double-digit points over their last 10 games.

The Blueshirts didn’t have their best performance against the Pens in the last game and were a little sloppy on the defensive side, but they still were able to get a multiple-goal win.

Bet: Rangers 60-Minute Moneyline (-120)
