MLB Best Bets

Cincinnati Reds (+116vs. Baltimore Orioles (-136)| O/U 9.5 (-115/-105)

Many will be soured on the Cincinnati Reds, as their 12-game winning streak ended by losing two out of three games to the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. However, losing two one-run games in which the team scored six runs apiece is nothing to be ashamed of when facing the team favored to win the pennant.

The Reds are one of four NL teams 3+ games over .500 on the road, and they have won three of their five road series against teams currently over .500. Cincinnati is also 6-1 in Brandon Williamson’s seven appearances. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles might be 18 games over .500 but have had just one winning streak of more than two games since May 25. This is a three-star play as Cincinnati ranks top-six in BABIP against left-handed pitching, and Orioles southpaw Cole Irvin ranks in the first percentile in xBA and xSLG while ranking in the 16th percentile in whiff percentage.

Cincinnati has won four straight Monday games, four consecutive series openers, and is 6-0 in its previous six interleague games. So while it has lost four straight at Camden Yards, this Reds team is playing too well not to find value in their plus-money odds.

Pick: Reds ML (+116)

WNBA Best Bets

Indiana Fever vs. Las Vegas Aces

The Fever and Aces scored at least 80 points in both games played against one another. The Aces earned an 84-80 victory on the road earlier this year and then dominated the Fever at home, 101-88. That 101-88 victory was just two days ago.

The Aces shot 53.1% from the field on their home floor, nailing nearly 48% from downtown. Neither team dominated in the fast break, but the Fever held their own, shooting 50% from the field and 37.5% from deep.

Both teams are effective inside the paint, but the Fever will foul much faster.

In the earlier game between these two teams, the Aces only shot 19% from three and 44.4% from the field. Despite that, the Aces still won the game after shooting 22 foul shots and making 16.

Even on a poor shooting night, the Aces found a way to score 80+ points. Meanwhile, the Fever has been consistently shooting the ball against the Aces and has scored 80+ points in each game against them.

The total is high for the WNBA at 172.5. But what will stop the Aces from scoring near 100 points again? I think this game will hover around the 180s in the final meeting between the Aces and Fever this season.

The Fever should get solid production out of NaLyssa Smith. She averages 14.8 points per game with 9.9 rebounds per game. Smith had 26 in 35 minutes for the Fever two days ago. Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson earned 28 points in the last game, including 10 rebounds. She’s a double-double machine averaging 19.3 points with 9.4 rebounds per game.

Let’s take the Over.

Bet: Over 172.5 (-110)
