Minnesota Timberwolves @ Utah Jazz

Mike Conley has added back-to-back games with 23 or more points. In the last game, he scored 25, and it was against the Utah Jazz. Therefore, everyone will look to take his Over. Still, Conley has scored 13 or more points in only 34% of games this season. He’s also facing a Utah team that is fourth in the NBA in points allowed to point guards.

Even after scoring 48 points in two games, Conley has still only averaged 13 points per game in the month. He’s had more games with nine or fewer than 25+. Right now, Conley is hitting from downtown. However, the Jazz should adjust and limit him this time around.

On the other hand, I’m rolling with Jaden McDaniels to score at least 10 points. McDaniels is facing a Jazz unit that ranks 28th in points allowed to power forwards. He played 22 minutes against the Jazz in an earlier game and only scored eight points on 4-for-9 from the field. But he’ll likely get more volume from the field in this game. His three-point shot is going to fall eventually. This is a good matchup for some easy looks, despite it not working for him last game.

We’ll also hope Anthony Edwards is the one dishing assists to McDaniels. Edwards has averaged 5.5 assists per game against the Jazz this season. He’s also hit this line in 61% of games throughout the year.

Buffalo Sabres @ Seattle Kraken

Seattle’s defense is one of the best. They are eighth in goals allowed, fourth in save percentages of shots on goal, and allow the fewest high-danger shots. Unfortunately, they have no resemblance to an offense, as they’re 28th in goals scored and 21st in expected goals.

For as many outstanding forwards as the Sabres have, they haven’t been an offensive-centric team. Still, Zach Benson and newly acquired Bowen Byram have been their two best playmakers over their last few games. The defense is keeping them in contention; they’re allowing 28.8 shots per game, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been great between the pipes with a .915 save percentage.

The Kraken are slightly favored as the home, but the Sabres have been the better-looking team recently. Seattle has dropped four straight and has scored six goals in that time. They face another tough defense, and Buffalo has players that can push the puck.

Pick: Sabres Moneyline (-102)

No. 10 Colorado vs. No. 10 Boise State (Play-In Game)

On one hand, the Mountain West did incredibly well to get six teams into the NCAA Tournament. Still, most of those teams have claims to being underseeded, including Boise State, who was given a No. 10 seed and relegated to a play-in game.

Few teams have better positional size on the wings than the Broncos, who used their length all season to defend the three-point line at the 23rd-best rate nationally while finishing with a top-five defensive rebounding percentage. Boise State owns a massive non-conference win against Saint Mary’s and won two of its last three regular-season games against NCAA Tournament teams. This includes a road win at San Diego State in a building where the Aztecs are 29-2 since the start of last season.

Colorado only won one game away from home against an NCAA Tournament team, and that was against Oregon, who made a miraculous run in the Pac-12 Tournament to win the league’s automatic bid. Buffaloes point guard KJ Simpson ranked in the top eight in league play in the percentage of his team’s possessions and shots taken. However, the Broncos have the perfect foil for him in Roddie Anderson, who ranked third in the Mountain West in steal percentage and is one of the most harassing on-ball defenders Simpson will see all season.

After losing in the opening round of the Mountain West Tournament, Boise State will have two extra days of rest compared to Colorado, which played on Saturday in its conference championship. That is significant, as the Broncos went 6-4 ATS with a rest advantage this season, while the Buffaloes went 6-10 ATS in games outside of Boulder.

Bet: Boise State +2 (-110)
