Los Angeles Chargers @ New York Jets

Despite some high expectations from this Chargers team, they really only do one thing well. That is passing the ball with their star QB Justin Herbert. Unfortunately, they are going up against one of the best pass defenses in the league on Monday night. The Jets are sixth in pass defense DVOA. They've been successful at slowing down some of the most potent attacks in the league this year. If the Chargers can't get the pass game going, it could be a long day.

On the other side of the ball, the Jets’ offense has been putrid, to put it nicely. Having already faced Miami, Kansas City and Dallas, the Chargers have played some of the better offenses this year, so this will be a welcome change. With QB Zach Wilson, the Jets have managed only 18 points per game yet sit at a 4-3 record. In DVOA, the pass offense ranks 27th, and the run offense ranks 24th. Los Angeles showed last week they can slow down offenses that can't help but slow themselves down.

It doesn't happen often with the Chargers, but this game should divulge into a defensive battle. Primetime unders and unders, in general, have been hitting at a large clip this year, so totals have continued to steam down. Regardless, at this number, I still like the under, and it's my favorite pick of the night.

Pick: Under 40.5 (-115)

NBA Best Bets

Milwaukee Bucks @ Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been a surprising team early this season. Many thought that Brooklyn would be rebuilding this season. Right now, they are 3-3 and have a couple of quality wins. Yet they will still have growing pains against more talented and experienced teams.

The Milwaukee Bucks are one of those more talented and experienced teams. Milwaukee has looked like a championship-caliber team early in the season. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are becoming a dynamic duo, and that chemistry will only improve throughout the season. Bettors can take advantage of the Bucks facing a team that is, in fact, rebuilding.

Bet: Milwaukee Bucks -5.5 (-110)

NHL Best Bets

Boston Bruins @ Dallas Stars

The Bruins will be without Charlie McAvoy again, but they're still strong throughout their lines and are sixth in expected goals. They also have one of the better goaltending tandems, and it looks like Jeremy Swayman will be between the pipes for this game. Swayman has not lost in five starts, and his 7.7 goals saved above expected are third.

They'll meet the Stars, who are also one of the more complete teams in the league. Dallas is slightly lower in expected goals at 11th, but they also have the talent in the net. Jake Oettinger has allowed 1.97 goals per game and has 6.6 goals saved above expected.

Still, those numbers are not better than Swayman's. The Stars aren't large favorites, but it's tough to go against Swayman right now.

Pick: Bruins Moneyline (+110)
