Detroit Lions To Win Super Bowl LIX (+1200)

The Detroit Lions were one second-half collapse away from reaching the Super Bowl this season, but instead, the 49ers came back from a 24-7 halftime deficit in the NFC Championship, completing the third-largest comeback in championship game history.

Detroit has arguably the most impressive backfield in the league, as David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs were the first running back duo in NFL history to total 1,000 or more scrimmage yards and 10 or more touchdowns each. Pessimists would argue that the Lions benefitted from an out-of-division schedule that saw road games in domed environments at the Chargers, Saints, Vikings and Cowboys. However, Detroit's running game should allow it to be successful outdoors in the postseason if need be.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was widely ridiculed for his two questionable fourth-down decisions in the NFC Championship. Detroit had two turnovers on downs inside the 49ers’ 30-yard line, which cost the team a -18% win probability. However, Campbell's aggressiveness paid off in spades throughout the season, as Detroit added a +63% Win Probability on fourth down this season, which was the fourth-best in the NFL).

And for those unwilling to put Jared Goff in the elite tier of quarterbacks, he has Super Bowl experience with the Los Angeles Rams and finished the regular season second among all quarterbacks in passing yards (4,575) and fourth in touchdown passes (30).

The Lions made history with their second-ever NFC Championship appearance, and they are a great value play to add to that franchise history with their first Super Bowl title next season.

San Antonio Spurs @ Toronto Raptors

Jakob Poeltl has added only 10.8 points per game this season. However, he's still hit at least 12 points in 52% of games and has added 12 points in seven of his last 10 games. Poeltl is second in the league in field goal percentage, shooting 68.8%. He's also attempted nearly eight shots per game in February.

With the Spurs ranking 28th in the nation in points allowed to centers, I like Poeltl to have a good enough game tonight.

San Antonio also ranks 28th in points allowed to shooting guards. RJ Barrett is the leading scorer on the Raptors right now. He's scored 19.3 points per game and has nailed 22 or more points in six of his last 10. He and Poeltl should have big days against a lousy Spurs defense.

On the other hand, Victor Wembanyama has hit at least two threes in 60% of games this season. He's raised that rate up in the last 20 games by hitting two threes in 75% of games. Wembanayama scored 20 points against the Raptors earlier this year and has hit at least two threes in seven of his last 10. Finish off the parlay with the rookie.

Minnesota Wild @ Vegas Golden Knights

A few teams changed coaches early on and found success; Minnesota is one of them and is 18-13-1 since Dean Evason took over. The offense is still not a powerhouse, but that wasn't an expectation. Instead, they wanted to rely on their defense. The goaltender tandem of Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury struggled under former coach John Hynes with 3.95 goals allowed per game, but with Evason, they're at 2.88.

Meanwhile, Adin Hill seems to be the heartbeat of this Golden Knights team. Overall, Vegas struggled when he was injured, but since his return, he's won all four of his starts. They also saw another key player return in William Karlsson, and he has two points in two games.

Both teams have played some close games since the return from the break, so this game could go either way. Hill vs. Gustavsson will be a fun matchup, and the under is the best bet.

Pick: Under 6 Total Goals (-125)
