NBA Best Bets Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (3/14)

There’s lots of NBA action on tonight.

There are even four games with a spread of two points or fewer. The oddsmakers are projecting some very close and exciting matchups.

I agree with some of the lines but have different opinions on some. Here are a couple of best bets to consider for tonight’s NBA slate.

Denver Nuggets vs. Toronto Raptors

The Denver Nuggets already defeated the Toronto Raptors on March 6, earning a 118-113 win at home. In tonight’s game, the Nuggets will be on the road. They’ve lost three straight games and have allowed at least 117 points in all three losses.

On the other hand, the Raptors have lost four of their last five games. But they’ve scored at least 108 points in four of those five games.

The Nuggets are among the best offenses in the NBA, averaging 118.9 points per 100 possessions with an effective field goal percentage of 58.4%. Denver will have higher turnovers, with Toronto creating a 17.1 percent turnover rate per game. But you can still expect the Nuggets to succeed on the offensive glass to earn second chances.

Meanwhile, Toronto is great at limiting turnovers on the offensive end. The Raptors are also active on the offensive glass, earning 30 percent of offensive rebounds. However, the Nuggets are usually good on the defensive glass and won’t allow a high rate of offensive rebounds. Still, Denver is allowing a below-average number of points per 100 possessions, and with the Raptors rarely turning the ball over, Toronto should get enough looks to help push this game over the total.

Bet: Over 227.5 (-110)

Brooklyn Nets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Nets have won four of their last five games. The defense started coming around after Brooklyn put together a new squad at the NBA Trade Deadline.

The Nets have won three of their last four games on the road and will stay out on the road to face the Thunder. The Thunder have also won four of five. But Oklahoma City faced teams like the Spurs and Pelicans.

Brooklyn is still shooting an effective field goal percentage of 57.1%. The Nets don’t usually dominate the offensive glass, but with the Thunder allowing a high offensive rebound rate, the Nets could end up getting some second chances.

Oklahoma City is only shooting a 53.7% effective field goal percentage. The Thunder will likely have more success on the offensive glass and limit turnovers better. But it’ll be the Nets shooting at a higher percentage.

Take the Nets +1.5.

Bet: Nets +1.5 (-110
