Top 3 NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (12/28)

We picked up right where we left off from last week, starting this week going 2-0-1 with a late push from Minnesota/Heat keeping us from three straight 3-0 ATS slates. With 16 teams in action on Wednesday, let’s take a look at the three spots I’m on heading into the day.

Top 3 NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (12/28)

1. Magic -1.5 (-110) vs. Pistons

Having not played since Friday, the Magic come into this game as one of the most rested teams in the league, not that they needed it. Heading into the mini-break, the Magic had won eight of their nine games, dismantling the Spurs 133-113 in their latest rout.

The Pistons, on the other side, last played on Monday, losing 142-131 for their sixth straight loss. Now 0-4 ATS in their last four, look for the Pistons to fold again late as the Magic continue to surge up the Eastern Conference standings.

2. Nets -4.5 (-110) vs. Hawks

Speaking of surging, no team is hotter than the Brooklyn Nets as this year winds down. Winners of nine straight, the Nets have now covered six of their past seven, beating the Cavaliers on the road Monday 125-117.

The win marked their fifth straight scoring 118 points or more, as things are starting to fire on all cylinders. The opposite can be said for Atlanta, as the Hawks have struggled without their big man Clint Capela. Though they come in much more rested, I don’t think the Hawks can compete while not at full strength in this spot.

3. Bucks/Bulls – Under 231.5 (-110)

Already shorthanded with Khris Middleton dealing with a knee injury, the Bucks are now dealing with a hobbled Jrue Holiday who is having hamstring issues. While they’ve been winning, it’s been despite some poor offensive showings, as they now rank 22nd in the league in FG% at just 46.2%.

The Bulls are in a similar injury situation, with Alex Caruso and Derrick Jones Jr. likely out of the lineup for this one. With five of their last six games vs. winning teams staying under, the Bulls have also struggled to score against the top half of the league.

Look for a similar result here, as the Bucks will be finishing up their fifth game of a five-game road trip and should have tired legs coming into this one.
