YTD Record (3-2-1)
1. Raptors +3.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
An opening-game win over the Cavaliers has been followed up by two straight road losses from the Raptors, as they stayed in Miami over the weekend to get a second crack at the Heat tonight. Covering as 3.5-point underdogs, the Raptors overcame a slow start to outscore the Heat by 18 points in the second half, covering the number by half a point.
Now facing the Heat with a questionable Victor Oladipo, I like for the Raptors to get off to a faster start and be in contention to win this one outright as the game winds down.
2. Jazz +1 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
The rebuild in Utah has apparently not been communicated broadly, as the Jazz has started the season now 3-0, coming into this one averaging a league-best 125.7 points per game. Lauri Markkanen has been stellar thus far, scoring a game-high 31 points as the Jazz took down the Pelicans Sunday night.
On the other side of this matchup, despite covering two of them, the Rockets are off to an 0-3 start, as their defense has again been terrible out of the gates. The Rockets are allowing a league-worst 123.7 points per game through three games. Coming into this one, theyâll also potentially be without Eric Gordon, Jae-Sean Tate, and TyTy Washington Jr, all of whom are questionable.
Despite coming in on the second of a back-to-back, I like for the Jazz to have enough left in the tank to take this one tonight in Houston.
3. Spurs +10 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
Forecasted by many to be the worst team in the league following the departure of Dejountae Murray, the Spurs also donât seem to have gotten the memo. After dropping their opening game vs. Charlotte on the road, the Spurs have rattled off two straight wins, covering both by a combined margin of 27.5 points per game.
They will now head to Minnesota to take on a Timberwolves team coming back to town following a late road game in Oklahoma City, their second win of the season and second against the Thunder. In their only other contest, they dropped a 126-132 overtime game vs. the Jazz in their first game of three in four days.
Look for the Spurs to keep this one close.
