Top 3 NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (10/31)

Halloween will bring a full night of hoops in the Association, as 14 teams will be in action across the league. After a poor display on Friday, I’m looking to get back on track with three spots I see value in as of this morning.

Let’s take a closer look.

YTD Record: 8-6-1 ATS

1. Grizzlies -3.5 -110 at DK Sportsbook

The Grizzlies will play Utah for the second time in three days tonight, as the Jazz got the better of the matchup on Saturday night, winning 124-123. The surprise Jazz, who are supposed to be in the midst of a rebuild, is now 5-2, including winning all three home games to this point. Kelly Olynyk and Lauri Markkanen scored 20+ in the win Saturday, as the short-handed Grizzlies failed to keep up.

In the second game tonight, Ja Morant has the potential to return, currently listed as questionable, dealing with a non-COVID illness. Desmond Bane scored a game-high 32 points in the loss, exploiting some of the matchup challenges the Jazz will still have tonight. With Morant likely back, look for the Grizzlies to get back on track in this one.

2. Pacers +8.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Like the Jazz, the Pacers have surprised so far this season, continuing to hover around .500 after picking up two straight wins coming into this one. Also, like the Jazz, they’ll be playing the same opponent from two days ago, picking up a 125-116 in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

In their Saturday win, the Nets were able to take advantage of a porous Nets defense, currently tanking dead last in the league in both points per game (122.2) and 3PT% (43.8%) allowed. Expect another big game tonight from the backcourt duo of Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton as the Pacers keep this one inside the number.

3. Rockets/Clippers Under 223.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Two teams in free fall will meet on Monday night in Los Angeles, as both the Rockets and Clippers come into this one three (Houston) and four (LA) game losing streaks. For both teams, scoring points have been a major issue, as the Rockets are averaging just 109.9 (23rd) and Clippers 100.7 (30th) points per game.

The Rockets also come into this game ranked 30th in the league in FG%, averaging just 42.2 points per game. The bigger surprise has been the Clippers, as they have now failed to score more than 95 points in three of their past four games.

While they await the return of Kawhi Leonard, I don’t see anything changing soon for this Clippers offense, and surely not on the second of a back-to-back (both teams are). Look for already poor shooting combined with tired legs to lead to this one staying under the total.
