Todayâs Best NBA Bets
For the season, my NBA best bets have gone 26-15 ATS
Philadelphia 76ers @ Brooklyn Nets
This has the potential to be one of the âbest betsâ of the season but still holds as a good play even if the news werenât to break our way.
The 76ers visit Brooklyn a day after a contentious, gritty come-from-behind win over the Knicksâ a contest in which Embiid, Harden, Maxey, and Tobias Harris each played 30+ minutes. Thereâs serious rest potential for Philly on the road/ tail-end of this back-to-back, especially so considering C Joel Embiid has been nursing a lingering foot injury. If the Sixers do choose rest on Saturday night, the Nets will be considerable favorites on their home floor.
If not, this is still a decent bet. Donât be so quick to fade the Nets amid the trades of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. The market has overreacted to these trades, unfairly shorting the Nets in their aftermath. While the absence of both of these players stingsâ it doesnât so much immediately. Durant had been sidelined for some time, and Irvingâs departure is more than made up for by the Netsâ acquisition of Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cam Johnson, and Mikal Bridges. The Nets, as presently constructed, are better than they were a week agoâ and are a sneaky bet to cover spreads as oddsmakers catch up.
Bet: Nets +3 (-110)
Indiana Pacers @ Washington Wizards
Donât hate meâ but this is a great game to bet on. The Pacers limp into Washington on the tail-end of a back-to-back and in the wake of an embarrassing home loss (and a favorite) to the Suns. Again, thereâs a chance that the Pacers rest some of their best playersâ namely, G Tyrese Haliburton, as he continues his return from a knee injuryâ and even if rest isnât in the cards, this line short-sells the Wizardsâ current talent.
Washington will be without F Kyle Kuzma (injury report here), but thatâs not that big of a deal. The Wizâ projected starters still rate very highly and shouldnât have an issue thwarting the tired Pacers. The duo of Beal and Porzingas (and the rest of Washingtonâs players) has sneakily been league-average. Further, Kuzmaâs presence (or absence) doesnât really alter the Wizardsâ prospectsâ but the game lines tends to overcompensate for his availability.
Washington is a really fair bet against a tired Pacers team, and this line has the potential to shift value in our direction. Take the Wizards. My gut/ the numbers has it WSH -6.
Bet: Wizards -4 (-110)
