Top NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (11/1)

There are just four games on the NBA slate tonight, including two games featured on TNT. Other than the Orlando Magic take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, the other three matchups are very intriguing.

One day that game will be appealing, with so many young stars developing. Just not yet.

I’ve got two best bets for the TNT doubleheader games. Let’s get to it!

Top NBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (11/1)

Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Indiana Pacers 116-109 last night to earn their second win of the season. Although the Nets won, they still didn’t cover the spread.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have lost two straight games against the San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers. They’ll look to get back on track against a struggling Nets team.

At this time, Zach LaVine, Coby White, and Ayo Dosunmu are questionable for tonight’s game with the Bulls. Meanwhile, Seth Curry and Ben Simmons didn’t play in last night’s game for the Nets due to injuries. It’s unclear if those two will suit up for tonight.

Here’s what we do know.

The Nets have been one of the worst defenses in the NBA, allowing 119.7 points per 100 possessions this season. They’ve also allowed 35.8% offensive rebounds to begin the year, which is the worst rate in the NBA. Chicago will also likely get to the line at a high rate and should be able to keep turnovers down, even with Brooklyn earning 15.8% of them.

On the other hand, Chicago has earned 17.7% of turnovers defensively. They’ll more than likely win the turnover battle. The Bulls are also third in the NBA in defensive rebounding, giving up just 24.4% offensive rebounds per game.

The Nets will get a lot of high-quality looks with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. They just won’t get second chances. The Nets will be in great shape if they make their first shot attempts. They’re shooting an effective field goal percentage of 54.8%, while the Bulls have allowed the league’s worst effective field goal percentage defensively, at 57.2%.

Although the Nets are coming off a game last night, I still like this game to go over the total. The Nets will get great looks from the field. Both teams should end up earning a ton of foul shots, and while the Bulls haven’t had too much success offensively, they’ll shine against a Nets team that has really struggled.

Bet: Over 232.5 (-110 at DraftKings

Minnesota Timberwolves  vs. Phoenix Suns

The Minnesota Timberwolves have won two of their last three games and are currently still over .500 to begin the year; however, if they want to stay above .500 tonight, they’ll have to find a way to beat a 5-1 Phoenix Suns team.

The Suns have won four straight games, with the last three coming at home. They’re still home for this one.

The Suns are holding teams to 108.1 points per 100 possessions. They’ve limited teams to a 52.2% effective field goal percentage and have earned close to 16% of turnovers. The Suns have fouled at a high rate, but the Timberwolves are getting to the foul line at a meager rate.

On the other hand, the Timberwolves have been just as good defensively. The other thing holding the Timberwolves back is the defensive glass. They’ve allowed 30.5% of offensive rebounds, which is bottom-five in the league. Meanwhile, the Suns have earned 29.7% of offensive rebounds this season, which is top-10.

The Suns will still be without DeAndre Ayton. However, Bismack Biymbo and Jack Landale have played well as his two backups. Landale added 16 points and seven rebounds against Houston in their last game.

The Suns have one each of their last four games by double-digits. At home, I’d expect that run to continue tonight.

Bet: Suns -5 (-110 at DraftKings)
