Top NBA First Basket Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (12/10)

Let’s take a look at the Saturday NBA schedule to find some First Basket prop winners.

San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat

In this matchup in Miami, there’s one player I have my eye on for First Basket, Bam Adebayo. Based on First Basket data, Miami players aren’t always a strong play, only scoring the first field goal in 34.6% of games this season, however, I like this matchup a lot.

Adebayo should really thrive in this matchup against an undermanned Spurs frontcourt because hey won’t be able to match his length and athleticism. With a veteran Miami roster where the starting lineup is always in flux, Adebayo is as sure a bet as anyone to start any given day. In addition, Bam leads the team in first field goals on the season. Look for Bam to get going early on Saturday and hopefully score us a First Basket.

Pick: Bam Adebayo

Dallas Mavericks at Chicago Bulls

This matchup on Saturday night in Chicago has a lot of solid choices for the First Basket prop. I’m going to target one from each team.

For Dallas, Tim Hardaway Jr. is my pick. Hardaway has just recently returned to the starting lineup and has been thriving. In his first six starts, he cashed this prop three times. He’s a volume shooter and on the second night of a back-to-back, Luka might be looking to take some load off. Hardaway will be more than happy to carry that load.

On the Chicago side, I’m targeting Nikola Vucevic. He leads the Bulls in First Basket prop cashes but regardless I love this matchup. Vucevic should have success against a Dallas frontcourt that isn’t known for being an imposing presence on defense. With a great matchup, I expect the Bulls to look to Vucevic early and often to get the scoring going.

Picks: Tim Hardaway Jr/Nikola Vucevic

Boston Celtics at Golden State Warriors

We get a Saturday NBA Finals rematch. Boston comes into this game on fire and looking for payback. Jayson Tatum and Steph Curry are both averaging over 30 points per game on the season but there is another player I’m targeting for First Basket, Jaylen Brown.

I like Brown here because I expect the Warriors to take the matchup with Tatum personally. With a focus on Tatum, someone else will need to step up, and with Andrew Wiggins out, I think that makes Brown the obvious candidate. Though he hasn’t been cashing this prop at the same rate as last year, Brown is still a solid play as he’s attempting early field goals in his starts.

Brown was electric in the NBA Finals and his comfortability with the opponent makes him an attractive play for First Basket.

Pick: Jaylen Brown
