NBA First Basket Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (Christmas Day)

Jayson Tatum (+550)

The Celtics and Bucks meet for the first time since their playoff series last year took them to seven games. We could see them play another one this year as these teams compete for the top spot in the east.

These two teams are very tight when scoring the first bucket. The one advantage for Boston the shots it takes to score at 1.9, and Tatum is taking the team’s most first three shots.

Joel Embiid (+280)

The 76ers are on an incredible run and have won seven in a row. They’ve had one of the better defenses all season, but the offense is starting to pick up.

The Knicks have dropped back-to-back games after winning eight in a row. They are another team that’s been using their defense and come in ranked ninth in adjusted defense.

The Sixers have the tip win and first-field goal advantage. The offense has been running through Embiid, who leads the team in first basket, and has two of the five first game baskets.

Luka Doncic (+490)

The inconsistencies of the Lakers season have been an issue all season. They will be at a huge disadvantage with point and rebounds leader Anthony Davis and assist leaders Russell Westbrook out with injuries.

The Mavericks have Luka Doncic, who’s leading the team in points, assists, and rebounds, but the supporting cast has not been as efficient as this sits around .500.

Although the Lakers have a slight advantage in first-basket wins, many of those were from Anthony Davis, who is out. I like the Mavericks grabbing the first bucket.

Desmond Bane (+600)

The Grizzlies are one of the most well-balanced teams in the league, as they’re in the top ten on offense and defense. They will be a legitimate contender, as they’re currently tied for the top spot in the west.

It’s been a tumultuous ear for the Warriors as they defend their championship. They’ll be without Stephon Curry for a while, and you’ve already seen the team suffer, and they have a point differential of -168 in their previous two games.

If the Grizzles are involved, they automatically get the first-basket advantage. Steven Adams is one of the best active players at the tip-off and is top 20 in wins. Desmond Bane has been two first team baskets in his last five games and has the most of the team’s first three shots.

Nikola Jokic (+460)

The Suns were the No. 1 seed in the west a few weeks ago, but they lost five straight and began to dip. Even without Devin Booker, they’re getting back on track, winning three of their last five.

The Nuggets took advantage of that and are now tied with the Grizzles for the best record in the west. Jokic is making a case to be the first three-peat MVP since Larry Bird and nearly had his third straight triple-double the other night.

The Nuggets have a clear advantage in first baskets, and tip wins. Jokic comes in today with two of the team’s last five first baskets.
