NBA First Basket Scorer Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (10/30)

Here are three of our top choices for First Basket Props on Sunday’s NBA slate.

Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are in free fall as they begin the season losing their first five games, and if you look at their schedule in the next couple of weeks, there aren’t too many winnable games. They host the Nuggets, whom they’ve already lost to in Denver.

Los Angeles could play without Anthony Davis as he deals with a back issue. This will benefit Nikola Jokic in this game, and he should be able to attack the basket, including to start.

Pick: Nikola Jokic (+330)

Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics

The Celtics have started the season off well, going 4-2, and they’ll host the Wizards, who are coming into the game with the same record.

Boston was one of the better teams at grabbing the first game points last year, and Jaylen Brown was their leader in the first baskets score the previous season. We’ll take him today to get it started at home.

Pick: Jaylen Brown (+420)

Orlando Magic vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks’ offense has been lighting it up to start the season, as they’re second in points per game but are leading the league in field goal percentage. Today they’ll host this young Orlando squad featuring Paolo Banchero, who’s quickly looking like a rookie of the year candidate.

On the other side, Luka Doncic looks like an MVP, as he leads the league in points and is second in field goals. He’s hit the first basket twice so far this season, and I like him to grab one today against the Magic, who have struggled offensively this year.

Pick: Luka Doncic (+310)
