Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons
In this Friday night contest, I'm going to go with a matchup play.
Through 7 games, the Cavaliers have been impressive. Their size is so critical to what they've been able to do both offensively and defensively. There is perhaps no team they'll have a bigger size mismatch advantage over than the Pistons. The two towers of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen have a huge advantage over the criminally undersized Detroit frontcourt of Isaiah Stewart and Bojan Bogdanovic.
With the size mismatch, I like the Cavs to target Mobley early and will take him for First Basket.

Brooklyn Nets at Washington Wizards
The situation in Brooklyn has gone from complicated in the offseason to downright messy. Kyrie Irving will miss at least the next five games starting Friday and the Nets will have to figure out how to run their offense in his absence. I think they'll turn to their superstar, Kevin Durant.
The Nets have been excellent on the tip to start the season winning six of eight. With an opportunity to start off strong, I like Durant to try to impose his will early in this game, in front of his hometown crowd.
Pick: Kevin Durant (+550)
Charlotte Hornets at Memphis Grizzlies
Both the Grizzlies and Hornets have had success on First Basket props even though neither has been particularly successful on the opening tip. This one can be a bit of a toss up, but I'm going to focus on the Grizzlies because they've been more successful.
Ja Morant is attempting 1.14 of the team's first three field goals of games in the early season. It's led to him scoring four of the first eight first team field goals and he's cashed three First Bakset props. I'll ride the hot hand here and take Ja to keep cashing this prop.

Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans are another team that has excelled early in First Basket props. They've scored the first basket in five of seven contest and I like their chances against a Warriors team traveling on a back to back.
One name I'm focusing on is Brandon Ingram. Ingram is expected back from injury after missing four games. In the three games he played to start the season he cashed the First Basket prop twice. With his return to the lineup, I like the Pelicans to go back to him early to set the tone and cash this prop yet again.
