Washington Wizards vs. Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have played nine games this season. In all nine games, they’ve got one thing in common. They’ve hit the first field goal in all of them. Although Toronto has only attempted the game’s first field goal in 44% of games and won the tip in 56% of games, the Raptors continue to score first at a ridiculous pace.

Meanwhile, the Raptors will face a Washington Wizards team that has struggled to win the tip. The Wizards have won the tip in 13% of games. They’ve also hit the first field goal in only 38% of games despite taking the game’s first field goal in 50% of games this season.

Therefore, the Raptors have the advantage of winning the tip and scoring first. They’ve been super efficient early, and that likely won’t change against the Wizards.

So far, Pascal Siakam has hit the most first baskets for Toronto this season, but he’s only taken 22% of the team’s first field goal attempts. Scottie Barnes has taken the first shot attempt in more games than Siakam this season. You can’t go wrong with either player, but Barnes has the better value here.

Bet: Scottie Barnes (+650

Chicago Bulls vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The Chicago Bulls are another team that has struggled to win the tip. The Bulls have earned only 22% of the tip this season but have still made 56% of the first field goal. Still, Chicago has only attempted the game’s first field goal in 44% of games.

On the other hand, the Bucks have won the tip in 50% of games. Milwaukee has only scored the first basket in 38% of games but has attempted the first shot in a game in 63% of matchups this year.

The Bucks haven’t been efficient in scoring first. But it’s more likely they’ll end up with the ball first.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has scored the team’s first field goal in 63% of games. He’s already scored five first-field goals this season. So, while Brook Lopez has attempted the team’s first field goal attempt in 38% of games, he hasn’t hit one. He’s the reason why the Bucks are inefficient from the jump.

If Milwaukee gives the ball to Antetokounmpo, they’ll likely score first when they win the tip. Let’s take the “Greek Freak” here.

Bet: Giannis Antetokounmpo (+360)
