There are 12 matchups on the NBA board tonight. That means we’ll have 12 different first basket scorers when the night ends.

    Wednesday’s Best NBA First Basket Player Prop Bets

    Orlando Magic vs. Sacramento Kings

    The Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings are extremely poor at winning the tip.

    The Magic have added the tip in 32% of games but have attempted the first field goal in only 39% of matchups. Orlando has also added the game’s first field goal attempt in 39% of games and has needed 1.9 field goals to score its first field goal.

    Meanwhile, the Kings have only won the tip in 27% of matchups. But they’ve still scored the first field goal in 57% of games while taking the game’s first field goal attempt in 43% of matchups.

    Sacramento has needed 1.4 field goals to score its first field goal.

    With Sacramento scoring the first field goal in 57% of games and the Magic adding the first field goal in 39% of games, I’m more comfortable taking the Kings to score first.

    De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have added 15 first baskets combined for the Kings this season. However, Fox is slightly more consistent, despite having one fewer first basket made.

    Fox has taken the team’s first field goal attempt in 33% of games and has scored the team’s first field goal in 29% of games. He’s just started in six fewer games than Sabonis.

    Washington Wizards vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

    The Washington Wizards haven’t done much right this season. They’re sitting at 6-26 and rarely start games off strong.

    Washington has won the tip in 39% of games and has scored the first field goal in 48% of games. The Wizards have also attempted the game’s first field goal attempt in 48% of games and have needed 1.9 shots per game to score their first bucket.

    On the other hand, the Cavaliers have won the tip in 69% of games, almost leading the NBA. They’ve scored the first field goal in 50% of games and attempted the first field goal in 59% of matchups.

    Cleveland has needed only 1.6 shot attempts before scoring first.

    Donovan Mitchell has taken the team’s first field goal attempt in 35% of games and has scored the team’s first field goal in 39% of games. He’s got nine first field goals to lead the team and has only started in 23 games this season.
