NBA First Basket Scorer Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (3/29)

We’ve got a huge slate in the NBA tonight featuring 10 games. There are a few games I’m eyeing in the first-basket market.

Let’s get right to it. All we need to do is win one of three to earn some profit tonight.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers

The Milwaukee Bucks have won the tip in 65% of games this year. Meanwhile, the Pacers have won the tip in just 32% of games this season. These teams have played in three games this year, and Milwaukee has won the tip in every single one of those games.

Although the Pacers added one first basket against the Bucks, there is a much higher probability that the Bucks get the ball first and take the first shot. So, of course, you’d want to be backing the Bucks to score first.

Brook Lopez has attempted 10 first shots for the Bucks this season. He’s also drained nine first baskets. He’s tied with Jrue Holiday for most first shots this season and has more first baskets than everyone but Giannis.

Let’s try Lopez in this spot.

Bet: Brook Lopez (+500)

Dallas Mavericks vs. Philadelphia 76ers

The Dallas Mavericks have only won the tip in 32% of games this season. They’ve also scored the first basket in just 38% of games.

On the other hand, the 76ers have won the tip in 45% of games. But they’ve been so good defensively that the 76ers have added 64% of first baskets this season. Philadelphia essentially scores the first basket in two of every three games. The Mavericks score the first basket in only one of three games.

Earlier this year, the 76ers won the tip and scored first. It was Joel Embiid scoring first in that game. He’s added 19 first baskets this season and has attempted 12 first shots. But Embiid is doubtful for tonight’s game. Therefore, I’ll roll with Tobias Harris, who has nine first baskets this season.

Bet: Tobias Harris (+450)

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have only won the tip in 27% of games this season. They’re among the worst teams at earning the ball first this year.

On the other hand, the Lakers have won the tip in 65% of games.

With LeBron James expected to be back in the starting lineup tonight, it’s only fitting to take LeBron to score first. He’s attempted nine first shots and has made seven first baskets this season. Even with Jamss out of the lineup, Anthony Davis has taken just eight first shots throughout the season.

Back LeBron.

Bet: LeBron James (+500)
