Golden State Warriors (-176) at San Antonio Spurs (+148) | O/U 225.5 (-112/-108)
The Warriors (12-3) hit the road to battle the Spurs (8-8) at Frost Bank Center on Saturday, with a tip-off time scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
The Warriors top the charts in the Western Conference with 12 victories in 15 tries, leading by a half-game over the Oklahoma City Thunder (12-4). The Warriors have ended up winning seven times in nine tries on the road this season. Golden State has posted a 119.1 points per game (PPG) mark, with a +10 point differential, second-best in the Western Conference only to Oklahoma City.
The Spurs are an impressive 7-3 at home but have a dead-even point differential while going 7-8 against Western Conference teams this season.
Itâs surprising to see the Warriors laying this little bit of points given their standing in the Western Conference. This is the first meeting with the Spurs this season. Golden State failed to cover at New Orleans last time out in a 112-108 win against the Pelicans.
The Warriors are also 1-3 against the spread (ATS) in the past four games, so that might be a reason for the low number. The under has cashed in three in a row, too, which comes on the heels of a seven-game run to the over.
For the Spurs, they picked up a 126-118 win as 3-point favorites over the Utah Jazz last time out. San Antonio surprised the Thunder before that in a 110-104 win as a major underdog (+363). However, San Antonio is still just 2-3 ATS in the past five games. The under has a slight 4-3 edge in the past seven outings.
Letâs roll with the Warriors laying the points and weâll also go low on the total.
Picks: Golden State Warriors -2.5 (-110) & Under 225.5 Points (-108)
Denver Nuggets (+154) at Los Angeles Lakers (-184) | O/U 234 (-110/-110)
The Nuggets (8-6) have stumbled along so far. They need a big win to get them going. The Lakers (10-5) sit just two games back of the first-place Warriors for the best overall record in the Western Conference. Los Angeles has managed an impressive 7-1 record at home, while the Nuggs have managed a 3-3 record on the road, so that could be key here.
Denver won five games in a row from November 2 to November 10. It looked like they were about to roll, but they have lost three of their past four games, with only a win over the Memphis Grizzles in the span. In addition, Denver is just 1-3-1 ATS in their past five outings.
The Lakers would like to get the job done against the Nuggets, a team that has pushed them around in recent seasons, including the playoffs. Los Angeles had a six-game win streak snapped last time out at home against the Orlando Magic, 119-118, failing as a 5.5-point favorite as the over (216.5) cashed.
The Lakers slipped to 0-3 ATS in their past three outings. Theyâre just 3-8 ATS in the previous 11 contests. The over has cashed in four of the past five games, and thatâs what weâre going to focus on.
Denver has cashed high in the past two outings and 10 of the past 12 outings. Denver has scored at least 120 points in seven out of nine outings while allowing at least 110 points in six of the previous eight contests.
The Lakers have scored at least 114 points in seven of their past eight while coughing up 115+ points in four of the past five outings. Letâs go high with the standalone bet in this late-night affair.
Pick: Over 234 Points (-110)
