Atlanta Hawks (-176) at Charlotte Hornets (+146) | O/U 227 (-112/-108)
The Hawks (9-11) are suddenly flying high after sweeping a home-and-home set with the Cleveland Cavaliers, including Saturdayâs In-Season Tournament game at State Farm Arena in the ATL. Atlanta won 117-101 in that game, cashing as a 5.5-point underdog as the Under (243.5) cashed.
The Hornets (6-13), are looking for revenge after suffering a 125-120 loss in Atlanta on Oct. 25, though the boys from Buzz City did hang on as a 5.5-point underdog as the Over (227) connected. LaMelo Ball went off for 34 points in that game with a ridiculous nine 3-pointers, while Miles Bridges added 27 points. Trae Young was good for 38 points and 10 assists with eight rebounds, while DeâAndre Hunter was good for 24 points in 33 minutes.
Atlanta has a respectable 5-4 SU mark in the past nine games while going 5-4 ATS in that span, too. For Charlotte, it is on a four-game slide, but the Hornets have covered five of the past six games. The Under has cashed in three straight games, too.
In this series, Charlotte has won five of the past seven, while going 6-1 ATS since Jan. 21, 2023, the Over has hit in three in a row, and five of the past seven meetings.
Letâs back the Hornets catching the points, while low on the total.
Picks: Atlanta Hawks +4 (-110) & Under 227 Points (-110)
Golden State Warriors (+138) at Phoenix Suns (-164) | O/U 232 (-112/-108)
The Warriors (12-6) will tangle with the Suns (10-8) at Footprint Center in Phoenix in a key Western Conference battle on NBA TV.
The Dubs are in a bit of a slide, dropping three consecutive games while going 0-3-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past four outings. The Under is on a 5-1 run in the past six games for the Warriors, too.
This is the first meeting of the season between these teams. The Suns won and covered three of the four meetings last season, sweeping and covering both games played in Phoenix. The Over cashed in both meetings in Phoenix last season, and the Over has hit in five straight meetings in Arizona since Dec. 25, 2021. Phoenix has cashed in six of the past eight meetings, too.
For the Suns, though, theyâre 1-6 straight up (SU) in the past seven games, while going just 2-5 ATS. The Over and Under have alternated in the past seven games, too.
This is an interesting battle, as the Warriors have really struggled since moving to 12-3 and first place in the Pacific Division. Theyâre just 1-5-1 ATS in the past seven games, too, while scoring 101 or fewer points in three of the past six games. The Warriors have allowed 108 or fewer points in five of the past six contests, too.
Letâs side with the Suns laying a few points, looking to keep the Warriors down, and weâll roll with the Under for a nice Same-Game Parlay (SGP) opportunity if you so choose.
Picks: Phoenix Suns -3.5 (-110) & Under 232 Points (-108)
