NBA Parlay for Monday, February 28th, 2022

Fourteen teams hit the court tonight in the NBA, as recently acquired trade deadline players are starting to find their role within their new teams. In the East, five teams sit within four games of the top spot, while the play-in tournament seeds are just as close.

Let’s take a closer look at a few games I have my eye on tonight.

Leg #1. Cavaliers +3.5| -110 at DK Sportsbook

The #1 defense in the league was on full display Saturday, as they allowed the Wizards no points over the final five minutes, outlasting them in a 92-86 win. The win stopped a three-game slide for the Cavaliers, who are dealing with further injuries this time to the recently acquired Rajon Rondo (toe) and Caris LeVert (foot) in just the latest string of bad luck for Cleveland.

For the visiting Timberwolves, a big win at home out of the break over the Grizzlies was quickly overshadowed by a blowout loss to the 76ers on Friday, falling 133-102. I like for the Cavaliers, who are 4-0 ATS in their last four in the role of home underdog, to keep this one close tonight in Cleveland.

Leg #2. Bulls +4 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Starting the day leading the Bulls by one game in the Eastern Conference standings, the Heat will look to maintain their lead as they welcome Chicago to town tonight. 1-1 since the break, the Bulls fell at home on Saturday (110-116) to the Grizzlies, as Ja Morant exploded for 46 points.

For the Heat, they’ll look to improve to 3-0 against the Bulls in this one, but will have to do so without point guard Kyle Lowry who has been ruled out due to personal reasons. I like for the Bulls to get back on track tonight with a chance to move into a tie for the top seed in the East.

Leg #3. Hornets +10.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Not long ago seemingly in control of their own destiny in the East, the Hornets have lost eight of their last 10 and find themselves holding on for dear life in the Eastern Conference play-in seeds (#9). Still #1 in the league in points per game (114.2), the Hornets rank #28 allowing 114.6 points per game and have been especially lackluster over this recent slide.

For the home Bucks, their four-of-five game slide has also been from a lack of defensive focus. Coming into tonight, the Bucks have allowed 124.2 points per game over their past five. In this game, I like for the healthier Hornets to do enough to keep it close down the stretch.
