NBA Parlay for Wednesday February 16th, 2022

With the trade deadline come and gone, many teams’ new identities are starting to form as the home stretch of the season is just around the corner. With NBA All-Star Weekend just days away, let’s take a closer look at how things are shaping up on tonight’s slate.

Leg #1. Wizards -1| -105 at DK Sportsbook

One of the more active teams at last week’s trade deadline, this team will look quite different down the stretch than it did to start the season. In addition to Bradley Beal being done for the year with a wrist injury, the Wizards also dealt Montrezl Harrell and Spencer Dinwiddie, which appears to have cleared up some brewing tension inside the locker room per comments made by Kuzma this week.

The results have shown, as the Wizards have won two of three since as both their offensive and defensive efficiency have improved. As for the home Pacers, they were also active in acquiring Buddy Hield and Tyler Haliburton. However, results are still pending. Losing three straight since to bring their losing streak to seven, the Pacers are very much in rebuild mode. I don’t expect big jumps tonight on the second of a back-to-back.

Leg #2. Raptors -1.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Another team on the second of a back-to-back that I’m fading tonight is the Timberwolves. In an overtime loss (126-120) to the Hornets last night, almost the entire starting lineup played 37+ minutes which I expect to translate to tired legs this evening.

Now they welcome to town a Raptors team that is hungry to get back to their winning ways after dropping two straight and scoring just 99.5 points per game in the process. I like for Fred VanVleet to go tonight for the Raptors and for them to get back on track, improving on their 8-1 ATS in their last nine following a loss.

Leg #3. Rockets-Suns Under 234 | -115 at DK Sportsbook

This total briefly touched 234.5 this morning before being eaten up, and this number could be soon as well. The #3 ranked team in defensive efficiency, the Suns have been consistently one of the best lockdown units in the league this season. While they also rank high in the offensive efficiency department, they come into this one on the second of a back-to-back and as 15-point favorites. As a result, they are likely to be resting some of their starters late.

As for the visiting Rockets, their newest losing streak has reached five, as they’ve scored just 106.2 points per game in that stretch, below their 108.2 season average. I like for the Suns to cruise to an easy win and let off the gas late, keeping this one well below the posted total.
