Tuesday’s Best NBA Play-In Tournament Same Game Parlay (SGP) Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic

We kick things off in Orlando, where the Magic will look to limit the Atlanta Hawks scoring, and advance to the playoffs. These two teams have met four times this season, with each team recording two wins. When these two engaged last on April 8,  Atlanta won that contest by 12 points.
In the last five meetings between the two teams, Atlanta has the edge by one win. The Magic may be absolutely smothering when it comes to other teams, however, the Hawks seem to find a way to find success against Orlando and score a fair amount of points.
Orlando comes into this contest having won seven of their last 10 contests, while Atlanta has split their last 10 games with five wins and five losses. The Magic seem to be in better form of the two, yet we feel Atlanta stays within five points of Orlando in this contest.
Orlando has only won four of their last six games played at home while scoring 107.9 points. The Magic are going to have to seriously consider increasing the pace if they want to beat the Hawks by more than five points. Orlando is only averaging 107 over their last five matchups against Atlanta.
The Hawks have been a scoring tour de force over their last 10 contests, putting up an average of 122.6 points each game. Those numbers increased to 123.8 in the last 10 games played on the road. Over the last five meetings against Orlando, Atlanta has not failed to exceed 106.5 points. Atlanta has exceeded 106.5 points in all but two of their last 20 games.
Onyeka Okongwu has not been the most trustworthy in regards to blocks over the last 10 games. The Atlanta center is averaging 0.5 blocks over that span and has played in six contests where he did not record a block. Our reasoning for this selection is based on history against Orlando. Okongwu has blocked at least one shot in four of the last five meetings against Orlando, including five in one game.
Caris LeVert is averaging 13.8 points over the last 10 contests while shooting 45.4% from the field on 10.8 attempts per game. The Atlanta shooting guard has scored at least 13+ points in six of the last ten games, including 13 points against Orlando on April 8. LeVert is putting up an average of 15.8 points on 47% shooting during April, falling short of 13 points in just two-of-seven contests.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors

Historically, this is an abysmal matchup for the Grizzlies. The last time Memphis was victorious in Golden State was in 2021. The Grizzlies are shooting 42.8% from the field, and 30% from beyond the arc over that span.
Golden State has won the last nine straight contests when facing Memphis at home. These two teams matched up twice in the Bay Area this season, with the Warriors winning by an average of 6.5 points. Golden State has won five out of their last six contests against Memphis and were 3-1 on the season.
The Warriors are averaging 119.6 over their last 10 contests while shooting 46.4% from the field, and 37.7% from beyond the perimeter. Golden State has scored at least 119 points in five of the last ten contests, including 134 against Memphis when these two teams met last on April 1.
Golden State has exceeded 118.5 points in the previous five games at home when playing Memphis. The Grizzlies have allowed an average of 119.6 points over their last 10 contests when on the road against the Warriors.
The 111.5 total for Memphis simply appears to be too low in what should be a fantastic matchup, with a torrid pace, to kick off the Western Conference Playoffs. Memphis is averaging almost 117 points over their last 10 contests while shooting 46.8% as a team.
The Grizzlies have surpassed 111.5 points in the previous three out of four games. Memphis has cleared 111.5 in all but one of their last 10 matchups against Golden State. The Grizzlies are averaging 121.7 points over that span.
If "Playoff Jimmy", was ever a thing, there's a good chance we are going to see that version of Butler this evening against Memphis. The Warriors made the decision to acquire Butler with every intention of catapulting the team to playoff success. And here we are...
Butler has been absolutely cooking as of late, averaging 27.7 points, 7.7 assists, and 3.3 rebounds, on a razor-sharp 60.5% shooting from the field. We wouldn't fault you at all for taking a points/assists combination or points, assists, and rebounds total. With the exception of rebounds, you could also easily make a case for taking the points and assists individually.
We feel it's best to play it safe with this straightforward selection, where we only need Butler to make one three-pointer. The veteran has connected on at least one three-pointer in six out of the last eight games played while shooting 50% from beyond the arc. The Grizzlies ended the season ranked 21st in three-pointers made by the opposition, allowing over 14 baskets from beyond the arc per game.
