Friday's Best NBA Player Prop Bets
Odds courtesy of DraftKings
Kelly Oubre Jr. Over 21.5 Points (-115 DraftKings)
Remember those kids back in grade school who refused to pass the ball because they were âso good.â Thatâs exactly who Kelly Oubre is in the NBA. As soon as the ball touches his hands, he is looking to score. He is the definition of a ball hog, and Iâm all about it.
The Sixers arenât the easiest matchup on paper for Oubre, but his recent form is too strong to ignore. Since the LaMelo Ball injury, Oubre has joined the starting five and has had no trouble getting to at least 22 points. He has cleared this in six of his last seven games averaging 25.4 PPG on 36.8 minutes and 18.3 FGA per game. Over the course of the season, when Oubre has played at least 36 minutes, he has 22+ points in 13 of 15 games averaging 26.3 PPG.
Steph Curry Over 29.5 Points (-105 DraftKings)
Mmmmm, that was a tasty 50 burger Steph put up last game visiting the Clippers. Curry is the Big Kahuna of Golden State, and theyâll need him to play like one tonight in Atlanta. The Warriors are a G-league team this season when they are away from Chase Center with a preposterous 7-27 road record. Home and road splits feel trivial at times, but they clearly hold some weight for the Warriors this season.
Considering how close these road games tend to play out for Golden State, it seems like a wise decision to target their go-to guy coming off a season-high 50-point performance. Curry is averaging 30.1 PPG this year, 28.9 PPG at home, and 31.2 on the road. He has scored 29+ in 16/23 games on the road, and the matchup looks to be fairly ideal against the Hawks, who are permitting the 9th-most PPG to Guards this season.
Both of these teams are in the top eight in Pace, and with a ridiculously high projected game total of 247.5, there should be plenty of back-and-forth scoring at State Farm Arena tonight. The last time Stephy faced Atlanta, he put up 50 points, making his alternate point props even more enticing. 35+ points sits at +230 and 40+ is at +550.
Anthony Davis Over 40.5 Points+Rebounds (-115 DraftKings)
There is no way Dallas is containing the Brow tonight. Since the Kyrie trade, the Mavericks are 24th in Defensive Net Rating, 25th in rebound%, and 26th in points in the paint allowed. They are clearly struggling on defense without the likes of Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorrian Finney-Smith over this 15-game sample. AD is undoubtedly licking his chops and brow for this matchup.
He scored 30 points and racked up 15 rebounds the last time these teams matched up was on February 26th, and that was with LeBron playing. Since that game without the King, he has eclipsed this mark in five of his last seven averaging 42 points+rebounds a game. Another 30/15 game definitely looks to be in the cards for AD tonight at home.
Trae Young Over 37.5 Points+Assists (-125 DraftKings)
This Warriors and Hawks game deserves two props in it, so letâs take the Hawkâs primary playmaker. Trae is on a bit of a tear as of late and has eclipsed this line in nine of his last 14 games, averaging 38.3 points+assists per game. Two of those misses were due to blowouts, and another two from Miami, who tend to have his number.
Golden State will not have the same effect on Young. They have allowed the 6th most PPG to Point Guards, and he put up 30 points and 14 assists when they met in early January. The Warriors will also be without two of their best defensive stoppers, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins, so scoring will also be plentiful for Atlanta.
