NBA Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (12/23)

Welcome to a loaded 14-game NBA slate where I’ll provide my favorite props for your liking.

It’s been a successful season so far, and I’d love to keep it going. Hopefully, you have ‘successfully betting NBA player props’ on your Christmas wish list. Remember to shop around for the best odds on the market. With the number of games today, there are bound to be discrepancies, and finding better odds really helps in the long run of sports betting.

Here are my favorite plays for tonight’s games.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Scottie Barnes OVER 5.5 rebounds (-120

This number is too low despite taking on a top-10 rebounding team. Scottie Barnes has consistently averaged 6.6 boards a game, with that number sitting just shy of seven over the last two months. His usage has hovered right around 20 percent on the season, with a small uptick in the last week.

A big factor here is Evan Mobley’s status. The 6’11 big man is questionable with right knee soreness and if he doesn’t play that seriously opens the lane for Barnes to snag some more boards. Cleveland’s slow pace and tough defense may deter you from betting many opponents over props, but this is one, as Barnes is more than capable of snagging an offensive rebound or two.

Jaylen Brown OVER 25.5 points (-110)

How could you not love this spot for Jaylen Brown and Boston?

The Celtics will be in a big pace-up spot taking on the fourth-fastest Minnesota squad. The Timberwolves’ defense is not where it should be, and Brown and Jayson Tatum have been money this season.

Brown has been averaging just over 26 points per game this year, with his usage sitting above 31 percent on the season. What I really love is that Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert both have questionable tags for Minnesota, along with Marcus Smart. If any of them are out, I only love this prop more. Even at -110 odds, this is still a solid value.

Mason Plumlee OVER 3.5 assists (+130)

This is a pure value play, as this number should not be at +130. I see it more as a 50/50 toss-up, so it’s an easy play to roll those dice.

The last two months have been successful for Mason Plumlee in the distribution department, averaging just shy of four assists per game. The Lakers’ second-fastest pace, combined with Charlotte’s ninth-ranked play, offers plenty of possessions for Plumlee to feed his fellow Hornets the rock. I expect them to capitalize against Los Angeles’ sub-par defense.

Other Props:

  • Tobias Harris OVER 5.5 rebounds (-130)
  • Deandre Ayton OVER 10.5 rebounds (+105)
  • Markelle Fultz OVER 13.5 points (-110)
