NBA Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (12/19)
Jarrett Allen OVER 10.5 Rebounds (+108)
The Cavaliers went all in during the off-season and traded with tonight’s opponent to get Donovan Mitchell, and it’s paid off, as he leads the team in points. It turns out the defense is the crucial part of their game, with the best adjusted defensive rating.
Even with trading away their superstars, the Jazz have been better than expected and are right in the middle of a very tight Western Conference race. While their defense hasn’t been good, they make up for it with the fourth-best scoring offense in the league.
The Jazz’s interior defense is certainly not their strongest spot, and they’re allowing the fourth-most rebounds to centers this season. Grabbing Allen with the rebound total set at his season average for plus money feels like a steal.
Joel Embiid UNDER 46.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-106)
The 76ers are in the middle of a less challenging stretch to schedule with a five-game stretch against below .500 teams, and they’ve won four straight. They come with one of the top defenses in the league, but the offense has come through recently.
This will be one of the better defensive matchups they’ve seen recently. In the last game the Sixers played against the Raptors, Embiid was way below that 46.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists mark. Toronto gives up points to centers, but they don’t let them grab boards or assists.
Trae Young OVER 10.5 Assists (-108)
The Hawks are in limbo as they sit at 15-15 on the year. They looked great to start the season, but they’ve struggled, going 4-9 in their last 13 games, including losses to a few below-average teams.
They’ll try to avenge one of those recent losses and face the Magic for the second time in the last five days. Young has only gone over ten assists in nine games this season, but that includes all three against Orlando, averaging 14.3 dimes.
