NBA Player Prop Bet Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (1/1)

Happy New Year! As we turn the page to 2025, I hope all your resolutions happen and you find big wins in the New Year. It's always interesting this time of year in life and work but we still have NBA games to bet on, which means life is good.

It's been a great season, and I hope we continue that trend tonight. As always, monitor injury news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay sharp regarding NBA player props is by staying on top of the news. The second-best way is to shop around at different sportsbooks. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so make sure you're getting the best value. Let's get to it.

Wednesday's Best NBA Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

Last Time: 2-1 | Season: 71-50

Tristan da Silva Under 19.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-117)

With the Magic banged up and the lineup continues to rotate, Tristan da Silva has been playing additional minutes in the starting lineup. In the last six games, he’s been on the court for an average of 33 minutes, but his numbers haven't been deserving of 20 points + assists + rebounds on the road.

Detroit doesn't have the best defense but they are also in the lower half for pace of play, so there isn't a big possession bump. Tristan da Silva splits also see quite the dip when on the road with only seven points a game as opposed to 10 at home and fewer boards and assists. This combo prop should be closer to 17.5. Despite paying some juice there's still value in the prop.

Karl-Anthony Towns Under 12.5 Rebounds (-106)

I usually run to the window to bet overs when opponents face Utah but we're pulling an unknown reverse tonight. Not only do the Knicks have one of the best offenses in the league but Utah's defense ranks dead last. Those offensive boards Karl-Anthony Towns grabs every night aren't going to be available because the Knicks simply won't miss enough shots.

On the other side of the court, Utah's strength lies on the boards, where they own the third-best rebounding rate in the NBA. With the number of made shots here and how the Jazz get their misses at a high rate, I'm happy going on the under for rebounds tonight at near even odds.

Nikola Vucevic Over 3.5 Assists (+120)

While I didn't run to bet overs in the Knicks-Jazz game, the Bulls-Wizards game offers the best contest on the slate to bet overs with high pace and poor defenses. Not only do the Wizards rank fourth in place of play - nearly identical to Chicago - but they also own the third-worst defense in the league, only ahead of the Jazz and Pelicans.

Nikola Vucevic already averages 3.3 assists a game. Given the lack of defense and higher possession rate, I'm surprised this is a plus-odds option. Opportunity alone should push him to five or six assists if you're looking to bet some alts here. Generally speaking, this is the game to find an over and send it.
