NBA Player Props Bet Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (1/31)

Welcome to a 10-game NBA Wednesday slate! It wasn’t a great day last time out, but one bad day has never stopped me before, and it won’t now. The season has been remarkable, so let’s continue the winning ways with such a slate.

Monitor injury news and shop around for the best odds available. There are a decent number of questionable tags, and keeping up to the second on injury news is a great way to stay sharp in the long term as a sports better. Numbers can change in an instant, so make sure to get that sweet, sweet closing line value.

Wednesday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be a single unit | Last Time: 0-3 Season: 86-59

Nic Claxton Under 27.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-113 via Caesars Sportsbook)

In terms of recent play, Nic Claxton has been solid, averaging over a double-double a game with nearly 14 points and 12 boards over the past two weeks. However, against the Phoenix Suns, Claxton is in a spot to regress. Phoenix does a solid job defending opposing bigs, limiting them to the second-fewest rebounds per game. Both teams are in the bottom part of the league regarding pace of play ranking. Hence, it’s not like there will be ample opportunity for Claston to score and assist, especially considering he only averages two assists a game.

Wendell Carter Jr. Over 18.5 Pts + Reb (-120 via DraftKings Sportsbook)

There are fewer teams I enjoy taking overs against than the San Antonio Spurs, with the 25th defensive rating, a top-five pace of play and truly abysmal defense against centers, allowing the second-most points per game to the position. To put a bow on it, San Antonio also ranks in the bottom five in the league in rebounding, so Wendall Carter Jr. should have plenty of opportunity to snag a few extra boards. This is an easy over play.

Domantas Sabonis Under 21.5 Reb + Ast (-123 via Caesars Sportsbook)

It feels against my core values to fade Domantas Sabonis after all the money he has earned me this year, but the value is too high. Miami is one of the slowest teams in the NBA, with an above-average defense. Sabonis is projected closer to 18.5 on the BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet, with a 76% chance of hitting this prop. Sometimes, I simply trust the sheet, which has been a prime money-maker for me during the year. No need to fade it now.
