NBA Player Props Bet Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (10/25)

The NBA is back! Nothing is better than a fresh betting slate for you to build up your bankroll all year. I will be here all season every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to give you the best player props for the day. Remember, it's Day 2 of a long NBA season. Don't go betting your entire paycheck on any single prop, even if it's incredible value. With the season just getting underway there will be a lot of learning about each team and players usage but that's all part of the fun. Here are my best bets for tonight's action..

Wednesday’s NBA Best Player Prop Bets

(All bets are one unit unless specified otherwise.)

CJ McCollum Over 26.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-129 at Caesars)

Let me start by reminding you to check out the BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet. There isn't a better tool in the industry that will provide better advice and leverage for your gambling needs. Not only does it utilize expert projections, but provides the best book to bet on said prop and cover probability, to calculate easy odds.

For tonight, McCollum is projected at 32.8 for the combo prop, a healthy number over the set 26.5. Over the last two months of the season last year, McCollum averaged 20 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists a game. Simple math puts that well over 26.5.

Memphis' defense was solid last year but they also ranked top-10 in pace of play so it will be a pace-up spot for New Orleans and give plenty of opportunity for McCollum to reach his prop total.

Victor Wembanyama over 19.5 Pts + Ast (-105 at DraftKings

I'm getting ahead of the curve here and betting all the overs for the future Hall of Famer.

Okay, maybe I shouldn't get too ahead of myself, but I do like the first overall pick in this spot tonight. In minimal minutes throughout the preseason, the 7'4 forward reached double-digit points easily without even going 25 minutes.

Zach Collins is questionable tonight for the Spurs which means more chances for Wemanyama in the frontcourt. Last year, Dallas was a bottom defensive unit in the league and despite their slower pace, the Spurs nearly led the league in pace of play a season ago so there will still be plenty of possessions to go around.

I can't say Dereck Lively II scares me too much either, nor Grant Williams depending on who guards the rookie. I mean how can anyone expect to keep him in check? It should be a fun coming-out party for Mr. Webanyama tonight.

Jaylen Brown Over 24.5 Pts + Ast (-125 at DraftKings)

I'm not sure if anyone made me more money than Jaylen Brown a season ago. It simply felt that his props were consistently mispriced and tonight I don't feel different.

There is a reason this prop sits at 24.5 despite Brown averaging 26.6 points per game alone last year. Even with the additions of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, Brown will still have a high usage and with the combo prop of assists, there will be plenty of opportunities for Brown to dish the ball to the other playmakers on the court.

The slower pace of play may be a bit scary but I expect this Celtics offense to be awesome. After ranking second in overall efficiency last year, I see them running it back now. It may take a bit for all the pieces to come together and the chemistry to build. While that happens, I will continue betting Jaylen Brown’s props until it's clear his usage is vastly different than last year.

Other Bets:

Kyle Kuzma Over 17.5 Points (-130 at DraftKings)

John Collins Over 11.5 Points (-122 at FanDuel)

Joel Embiid Under 4.5 Assists (+112 at FanDuel)
