NBA Playoffs Player Prop Bets Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (5/1)

We are in the second round of the NBA Playoffs as we get closer to crowning a champion. We have Game 2 in a series that didn’t have an exciting Game 1. As another series starts, one team will be at a large disadvantage with one of their biggest stars doubtful to suit up.

Here are my best player prop predictions for Monday, May 1.

Monday's Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Jaylen Brown OVER 25.5 Points (-102)

The Celtics and 76ers will begin their second-round series in Boston.

Like Boston last year, Philadelphia swept the Nets easily to advance to the next round. The big question is the availability of MVP finalist Joel Embiid as he missed Game 4 with a knee sprain. Sixers head coach Doc Rivers announced that Embiid is doubtful to play, but some reports suggest his injury is more serious, and he may not play at all.

We thought the Celtics would roll through the Hawks, especially with a 3-0 series lead. A hot streak by Trae Young extended that series to six games before they moved on.

Boston had the third-best adjusted defense this season, and that strong defensive presence got them to the NBA Finals last season. That defense struggled in the first round allowing 115.8 points.

Jaylen Brown went on a nice run with 30+ points in the last three games, and he's hit this prop twice in three games against the 76ers this year.

Nikola Jokic UNDER 48.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-113)

Game 1 was all Denver, with a 125-107 win at home. The Nuggets played better on the boards and hit twice as many threes to help them control the game.

Two players who played well in the first round and transitioned that over were Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Jokic recorded his fourth double-double of the playoffs with a playoff-high 19 rebounds, and Murray had his third 30+ point performance and went 6-for-10 from three.

Jokic narrowly went over his PTS/REB/AST prop in Game 1, and setting it higher will be a reach as the Suns adjust in Game 2.
