NBA Playoffs Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (5/1)

The first round of the NBA Playoffs was bonkers.

We’re officially out of the first round and onto the second round. Some Conference Semifinals matchups have already begun, while others are just getting started.

We’ll have an intriguing Eastern Conference matchup tonight between the Celtics and 76ers. That’ll be followed by Game 2 between the Suns and Nuggets.

Let’s get some action on these two games. Here are a couple of same-game parlays to consider for tonight’s NBA slate.

Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics

I know Joel Embiid is doubtful for Game 1. However, I’m not entirely confident that he won’t play. Even if he does, the 76ers will ask much out of James Harden and Tyrese Maxey. The expectations are incredibly high, and I don’t think they’ll meet them.

Maxey scored 25 or more points in only 36% of games this year. He’s also going up against an excellent defense in the Celtics. Maxey went 6-for-20 against the Nets in Game 4 of the First Round and played in 39 minutes. He finished with 16 points and shot just 30% from the field. He also attempted only four threes in that game.

Meanwhile, James Harden has shot 34.3% from the field in the playoffs. He’s averaging 17.3 points per game but had one game with only eight points. He will take a lot of shots, but he’s not going to be very efficient. Harden has hit his number in two of his last ten games.

On the other hand, Marcus Smart is coming off a 6-for-12 performance against the Hawks in his last game. He finished with 22 points and has scored at least 12 in seven of his last ten games.

Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets

Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are about to go off.

After losing to the Nuggets in Game 1 of the series, Booker and Durant will be hungry in Game 2.

Booker averaged 37.2 points for the Suns in Round 1 of the Playoffs and scored 27 against the Nuggets in Game 1. He only attempted one three-pointer, which was unlike him. If he can add a couple of threes in tonight’s game, I’ve got him surpassing 30 points.

On the other hand, Durant finished his first game against the Nuggets with 29 points. He shot 63.2% from the field, but like Booker, he didn’t shoot many threes. Again, like Booker, Durant is usually good for a couple of threes per game. If the Suns can adjust and get more three-point shooting out of their stars, they’ll be in for a great game tonight.

And then there’s Bruce Brown. Brown played only 25 minutes against the Suns in Game 1 and shot 7-for-11 from the field, scoring 14 points. He averaged 11.4 points per game in his first playoff matchup but has hit at least 12 points in four of his six playoff games. I like him to go over again tonight.
