Mavericks vs. Clippers
The Clippers will host the Mavericks in Inglewood on Monday in what should be an interesting matchup. Los Angeles has played some of the lowest-scoring games we’ve seen this preseason. Averaging 102 PPG this preseason actually has them at 2-1. This is because of some phenomenal defense where they’ve only allowed 98.3 PPG. It’s not poor shooting either that’s been the issue, they’ve just played at a slow tempo. For Dallas, they’re 0-2 in the preseason but both games were close defeats. However, they’ve been outrebounded in both games and against a team like Los Angeles that wants to slow the game down and limit possessions, that could be a big problem. Dallas will also likely be without Luka Doncic again and his presence, although it’s just a preseason, makes a big impact on this team. I like the Clippers to win this one but with lineup uncertainty this time of year, I feel a lot more confident in taking a side on the total. It’s the lowest total on the board for Monday, but with a play style from the Clippers that will dictate the pace, I’ll still take the under.
