Check out our top NBA preseason picks and predictions for today’s games.

Raptors vs. Wizards

The Washington Wizards are heading into tonight's game against the Raptors, sitting at 0-2 in the preseason. The Wizards haven't even been competitive, with a 125-98 loss to Toronto earlier in the preseason and another 117-94 loss to the Knicks more recently. Washington's Alex Sarr looks great, but the rest of the starting lineup doesn't. After all, Kyle Kuzma scored two points in 22 minutes against the Raptors in the earlier preseason game. While Toronto's starting lineup is nothing to write home about, the team still has way more depth. Against Washington, there were five players in double-figures, and the team shot nearly 55% as a whole and 40.5% from three. Give me Toronto -3.5 (-110).

Pick: Raptors -3.5 (-110)

76ers vs. Timberwolves

The 76ers and Timberwolves will both travel to Des Moines on Friday for a preseason game. Philadelphia got their preseason started off with a blowout of the New Zealand Breakers. This doesn’t tell us much about this Philadelphia team. Joel Embiid is not expected to play again in this game against the Timberwolves, but we may see the debut of Paul George with the 76ers. On the other side, the new look Timberwolves could see Anthony Edwards make his preseason debut. Minnesota looked strong in their opener against the Lakers with their bench having a very impressive game. Rookies Rob Dillingham and Terrance Shannon combined for 35 points off the bench while Josh Minott and Luka Garza put up 22 and 20, respectively. This is a very deep Timberwolves roster and even without Karl-Anthony Towns they’re a handful even in the preseason. I’ll be backing them in this matchup.

Pick: Timberwolves -3 (-110)

Kings vs. Warriors

Through two preseason games, the Golden State Warriors are 2-0 after knocking off the Kings 122-112 earlier. Life without Klay Thompson isn't so bad after all! The Warriors will likely start Brandin Podziemski over Thompson this season and have Buddy Hield come off the bench. Hield ultimately showed he could win the Sixth Man of the Year Award off the bench after hitting 6-for-7 from downtown in 19 minutes against the Kings. DeAnthony Melton is another major contributor off the bench. The reality is the Warriors made sure to add lots of good shooters to the roster. On the other hand, having DeMar DeRozan will be really helpful for the Kings. He showed out in the 15 minutes against the Warriors, scoring 15 points in 15 minutes. That said, the Kings are dealing with many injuries, including Kevin Huerter, Trey Lyles, and others. That surely doesn't help the depth. Let's take the Warriors at -1.5.

Pick: Warriors -1.5 (-110)

Pistons vs. Suns

It's almost like Mike Budenholzer has been there before... oh wait. He has. Budenholzer, new coach of the Phoenix Suns, was oddly fired mid-season with the Bucks last year despite earning an NBA Championship not too long ago. Of course, the Suns picked him up in the offseason, and now the Suns look so much more complete than in previous years. In the most recent preseason game against the Pistons, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker all scored in double-figures with no more than 22 minutes each. The bench depth has been up and down offensively, but if nothing else, the defense is coming along. It held the Pistons to just 97 points on the road last game. Now the Suns are home, and the result should be another victory.

Pick: Suns -3.5 (-110)

Trail Blazers vs. Clippers

The Portland Trail Blazers will play in their first preseason game of the year. The team is already dealing with injuries to Deni Avdija, Robert WIlliams III, Shaedon Sharpe, and Matisse Thynbulle. All of these players are important for the season and will have major roles. Meanwhile, the Clippers aren't so healthy either. But they still knocked off the Nets, 115-106 last time out. Los Angeles shot nearly 54% from the field and drained 40% from three after an earlier dud performance against the Warriors. However, the one thing common in both games was the defense. They held the Warriors to 33.7% from the field and limited the Nets to 43% from the field. I'll back the Clippers at -3.5 (-110).

Pick: Clippers -3.5 (-110)
