Fridayâs Best NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions
Payton Pritchard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made
No matter how a game goes or how many minutes he plays, Pritchard always finds a way to knock down at least three three-pointers. He's made at least that many in seven of his nine games. His two poor performances came in the first game of the season and in his first game of November when he went 0-of-5 against the Hornets. He followed that second game with a 6-of-12 night against the same Hornets team.
The Nets are tied for first in three-point defense, allowing an average of just 11.4 shots from beyond the arc per game. But when it comes to three-point percentage, they rank 11th. This shows that teams just don't put up many three-pointers against them. Pritchard is averaging 9.4 attempts per game. As a 41.2% shooter, he'll easily hit this over if he attempts at least nine tonight.
Myles Turner Under 9 Rebounds
Turner's total is set a little too high tonight, thanks to two great rebounding performances in a row. He has pulled down 21 rebounds in his last two games, accumulating 10 on Wednesday and 11 on Monday. While those performances are solid, he pulled nine or fewer rebounds in the first five games.
Turner is averaging just 7.1 rebounds per game this season, which aligns with the 6.9 he averaged last season. Though he gets a good matchup tonight against the Hornets, this number is probably 1.5 too high. The Hornets are allowing 53.6 rebounds per game, which ranks ninth-worst in the league, but they don't present an obvious advantage for opponents in the way this line suggests. If Turner hadn't pulled down double-digit rebounds in back-to-back games before this, the total would be set at 7.5.
Franz Wagner Under 24.5 Points
Here's another total that is set with just the last two games in mind. Wagner has scored 28 and 22 in his last two contests after failing to score more than 17 for four consecutive games. He's topped 24.5 points just twice all season, and he has two games where he failed to score even 10 points.
The Pelicans have the eighth-worst scoring defense in the league, and they're allowing an average of 125.0 points per game over their last three contests. But their poor defense has certainly already been taken into account when making this line. Wagner is averaging just 18.8 points per game this season. While he should go over 20 points, this number is too high.
