- Leg 2: Anthony Davis Over 25.5 Points (-125)
- Leg 3: Anthony Davis to Record a Double-Double (-200)
- Leg 4: Trae Young Over 35.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-113)
The Lakers are on the last leg of a four-game road trip and will take on the Hawks tonight before returning home to Los Angeles. Stating that the last two games for the Lakers have been a nightmare would be an egregious understatement. Los Angeles lost by a combined total of 70 points, and things seem anything but cohesive only 22 games into the season.
Los Angeles is 4-6 over its last 10 games. The Lakers have one win in their last five road contests. The winners of the inaugural NBA Cup are in a bad way and Atlanta could find themselves in a one-sided affair against a struggling Lakers squad.
The Hawks have won their last five games in a row, which includes two back-to-back wins against the first-place Cleveland Cavaliers. Atlanta has a combined winning margin of 11.4 over the five victories, and the Lakers could be more focused on finally ending this dreaded road trip. We will take the Hawks with the points in this one.
LeBron James is currently listed as questionable for this contest, and there's a more favorable chance than normal the Lakers forward could take the night off, or at the very least, play in a somewhat limited fashion.
Any limitations for James would open up the door for Anthony Davis to dominate this contest. The Lakers were at their best when running the offense through Davis. Over the last four games, Los Angeles has only one win. In those games, Davis has exceeded 25% usage on one occasion. If the Lakers want to make this game even somewhat competitive they should look to get the offense flowing through Davis.
The Los Angeles center is averaging 26.9 points with 11.3 rebounds on the season on 53% shooting from the field. Atlanta respectfully does not have an option to stop Davis from scoring at will. Davis has scored at least 26 points or more in six of his past 11 games, including four contests with 30+ points. We feel he confidently will surpass the suggested point total, even if James does play.
Davis has recorded a double-double in 14 out of 22 games for the Lakers this season. Atlanta allows the 10th-most rebounds across the NBA, and they mirror that standing in regards to offensive rebounds surrendered compared to the rest of the league with 11.5 each contest.
Davis produced a double-double in 10 out of his last 12 games. As long as the center for the Lakers is on the floor for the usual allotment of playing time in this contest, this appears to be a great spot to add at least 10 rebounds to his 25.5 points prop line.
Trae Young is listed as probable for this contest with tendinitis in his right Achilles. That sounds like the type of injury that would limit most from grocery shopping, let alone running up and down the court for 30+ minutes. In all seriousness, the man deserves the utmost respect for toughing out this injury. Having said that, we are pouncing on the under for his combined points + rebounds + assists prop.
Young may have been dealing with this injury for a few games now, causing a noticeable decrease in scoring production. In the previous four contests, the Atlanta guard has only scored more than 20 points in one game. Had it not been for a 15-assist performance, Young would be 0-4 covering the 35.5 points + rebounds + assists combo prop in as many games.
We seemingly get a small edge due to the total being predicated on season averages and not factoring in the current injury. This number is sure to drop as the day goes on and more bettors look to pounce on a vulnerable total. Get to the window early.
Good luck with your parlays.
