We’ve got six games on the NBA slate to start the week. Three of those games have a spread of 3.5 or less. I’ll be looking at those games, knowing the probability that they stay close throughout is higher than the other matchups.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Detroit Pistons

This isn’t the most exciting game on the slate. But the value is there.

Santi Aldama had two disappointing games over his last two games, averaging 5.5 points in those two games. However, Aldama typically takes more than ten shots per game and only attempted ten shots in the two games combined.

Aldama is dealing with an illness, but sportsbooks still expect him to play. If he plays, his volume should be higher. He’s taking on a Detroit defense that ranks 15th in points allowed to power forwards this season. Meanwhile, Aldama has still hit this line in seven of his last ten games.

On the other hand, Jalen Duren has shot 62.9% from the field with Detroit this season. The 20-year-old center has scored at least 15 points in just four of his last ten games and hit this line in just one of his last five games. Duren attempted under eight shots per game this month and averaged 13.6 points per game, despite shooting 64.1% from the field and 83.3% from the foul line. Memphis also ranks second in the NBA in points allowed to centers.

Lastly, we’ll ride Cade Cunningham’s rebounds prop. He just came off a 33-point game with eight rebounds and seven assists to help lead the Pistons to a win over Washington on Friday.

Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans

Grayson Allen played against the New Orleans Pelicans once this season. In that game, he added 12 points and six assists. However, his line is sitting at just 2.5 for tonight’s game. Allen has averaged more than three assists per game this season and has hit this line in 63% of games this year.

In that same game, Bradley Beal added just five assists. He’ll need one more to hit the Over in this game. However, recently, Beal has been adding a bunch of assists. He only had two on Friday against the Pacers. But before that, Beal added at least seven assists in seven of eight games. He’s now hit that line in eight of his last ten games. The Pelicans are also dead last in assists allowed to shooting guards this season.

Finally, Devin Booker averaged 5.4 rebounds per game this month. Still, his line is stuck at 4.5 at nearly even money. Booker has nailed this line in seven of his last ten games and is facing a Pelicans team that ranks 24th in rebounds allowed to shooting guard.

Booker should see enough boards to hit the Over.
