NBA Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (4/8)

We’ve got a three-game slate in the NBA. But I only trust two of the six teams to play their top players tonight.

The regular season games before the playoffs are just a disaster. We’ve got teams tanking with multiple all-stars, like the Dallas Mavericks. And then we’ve got various teams trying to earn themselves the top pick in the NBA Draft.

Something’s got to be fixed. But for now, we’ll work with what we’ve got.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Timberwolves are 13.5-point favorites in today’s game. The Spurs are tanking and already have one of the worst defenses in the league. But if the Timberwolves get a big early lead, Anthony Edwards and Mike Conley won’t be playing much down the stretch.

Edwards has only hit 25 or more points in two of his last five and five of his previous 10. But he’s likely going to earn fewer minutes in this game.

The same could be said about Conley, who has only hit 14 or more points in 37% of games this season. He’s not the most reliable scoring option and probably will pass more than score in this game.

Still, I think it’s worth a gamble on Conley to earn four or more rebounds. The Spurs are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, and Conley will be that engine for the Timberwolves. He’ll crash the glass and set up the offense immediately. He’s hit at least four rebounds in 60% of his last 20 games.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers are even bigger favorites than the Timberwolves. The Clippers still need to win to maintain a top-six spot in the Western Conference.

But Kawhi Leonard has only hit 26 or more points in 42% of games this season. With limited minutes toward the end of the game, don’t bet on Leonard to go off offensively. He won’t have the minutes in this blowout.

However, I still like Leonard to earn four or more assists in this game. He’s hit this number in 66% of games and 75% of his last 20. That’s something he’s reliable with.

Finally, again, Ivica Zubac won’t earn heavy minutes in the second half once this game gets out of hand. Zubac has only hit 11 or more rebounds in 39% of games. With fewer minutes in the second half, it’s unlikely Zubac dominates the glass. He’ll get close in the first half, but then the blowout will send him to the bench.

Zubac will be close to a double-double but likely will miss out on rebounds.
