NBA Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (12/17)

We’re about a week away from Christmas basketball. We’ll have to get through one more weekend.

However, on the seven-game slate, tonight includes a game between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs that’s being played in Mexico City.

I won’t make a play for the Mexico City game. There are too many questionable players on the Heat side to be sure about anything. But I’ve still constructed two same-game parlays that should earn us some profit later tonight.

Utah Jazz vs. Milwaukee Bucks

  • Leg 1: Lauri Markkanen Over 20.5 Points (-115)
  • Leg 2: Jordan Clarkson Over 3.5 Assists (-146)
  • Leg 3: Lauri Makkanen Over 7.5 Rebounds (-128)

Tonight, I’m siding with the Jazz. The Bucks have lost two of their last three games. One of those losses came against the Rockets, 97-92, and the other was against Memphis last night, by the score f 142-101. There’s a disconnect with this Milwaukee team right now.

Lauri Markkanen has averaged 22.4 points per game this season for the Jazz. He’s developed into a true all-star in Utah and has hit 21 or more points in 61% of games played this season. Milwaukee is coming off a game in which they allowed over 140 points. The Jazz will find their best scorer and get to work.

Markkanen has also averaged 8.5 rebounds per game. He’s hit eight rebounds in 64% of games this season. He’s coming off 42 minutes against the Pelicans and helped the Jazz beat the Pelicans in back-to-back games, which is never easy. He added 16 rebounds in those two games, averaging about eight over the last two.

The second leading scorer is Jordan Clarkson. But he’s also averaged 4.7 assists per game. However, his line is sitting at 3.5 for tonight. Clarkson has hit four or more assists in 63% of games this season. However, he’s missed that mark in the last three. He’ll get four tonight.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

  • Leg 1: Dillon Brooks Over 2.5 Assists (-156)
  • Leg 2: Dillon Brooks Over 3.5 Rebounds (+114)
  • Leg 3: Jaren Jackson Jr. Over 1.5 Three-pointers (-132)

It seems like Dillon Brooks is being undervalued tonight. In December, Brooks averaged 3.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. He’s already averaging 3.7 rebounds and three assists per game this season.

Brooks has hit at least four assists in five of his last seven games. He’s also added four or more rebounds in those last seven games. He’s hit three assists 60% of the time and four rebounds 60% of the time.

The Thunder have allowed the most rebounds on the defensive end this season.

Oklahoma City is also 28th in allowing three-pointers to be made. Jaren Jackson Jr. has only shot 35.2% from downtown this season but still hit two threes in 58% of games. Jackson usually gets about five attempts per game. Against the Thunder, these looks should be high-quality ones. Back Jackson to finish off the parlay with a couple of three balls.
