Golden State Warriors at Portland Trail Blazers

The Warriors are looking to jump a spot or two in the Western Conference. They’ll be focused on winning in this one and slowing down Portland’s go-to guy in Deandre Ayton. He has been balling out as of late, but this is a massive number for him to eclipse in a game with a 14-point spread. The Warriors held him in check in both meetings this year too; Ayton posted just 21 and 17 combined PRA against them in those games.

Trayce Jackson-Davis will likely see a good chunk of time on the floor to match up with Ayton’s size. He has started in nine straight and has seven or more rebounds in eight of those nine contests. Portland has allowed the fifth-most rebounds per game to opposing Centers on the season, too.

The final leg here is pretty self-explanatory; it’s Steph Curry, and he’s averaging 26.4 points per game on the season. He has put up 31, 7, and 27 points against the Trail Blazers this season. In a must-win spot, he will show up and he could go over this through three quarters if the game gets out of hand.

New Orleans Pelicans at Sacramento Kings

This is a meaningful game for both teams as they try to maintain their current playoff spots. The Pelicans are just a game ahead of the Suns for the sixth spot, while the Kings are just a half-game ahead of the Lakers and a game ahead of the Warriors in the eighth seed. Playing at home, Sacramento is going to hope for De’Aaron Fox to show up big in this spot, but this isn’t the spot for him.

The Pelicans possess the best pick-and-roll defense to the guards who handle. The last time these teams met, New Orleans held Fox to a season-low three points in a 33-point blowout win. Because he is the primary focus of the Pelicans, look for Fox to dish it out instead. They have allowed the seventh-most assists per game to opposing Point Guards over the last 30 days.

This is a fantastic matchup for Trey Murphy of the Pelicans. The Kings struggle at stopping the three-point shot, allowing the second-worst conversion rate to opponents. Murphy primarily does most of his scoring from beyond the arc and has found at least three threes in 14 of his last 22 games.
