Detroit Pistons at Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are playing, and if you’ve been reading this column from me this season, you already know they’re going to be one of the games featured here. Their pace (2nd) and lack of defense (25th in adjusted defensive rating) always bodes well for these types of wagers. Detroit is right there with them, ranking 10th in pace, and 26th in aDRTG on the season too. Haliburton has put up 13, 16, and 10 assists in three matchups with Detroit this season. He’s the assist leader for a reason and over this mark in 11 of his last 17 games.

The Pacers do a terrible job defending Point Guards, so look for Cade Cunningham to find some scoring in this one. They have allowed the fifth most points per game to opposing PGs over the last 30 days. Cunningham has done a tremendous job taking advantage of them, scoring 31, 23, and 30 points in his three matchups with them.

Lastly, look for Jalen Duren to rack up the rebounds per usual. The guy is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game on the season and found 13 in both games played against Indiana this season. They have permitted the eighth most rebounds to opposing Centers across the last 30 days.

Parlay Odds: +400

Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland is really hurting right now. They will be without Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Dean Wade, and Evan Mobley in this one. Typically that should bode well for Jarrett Allen’s scoring, but not in this matchup. The Heat have held Centers to the 2nd fewest points per game on the season, and third fewest across the last 30, thanks to Bam Adebayo’s defensive prowess. Allen has gone head-to-head with Adebayo on six occasions since joining the Cavs and has been held under this mark in every game, averaging just 9.5 points per game.

While the scoring will come tough, the rebounding should come a little better for Allen. Without Mobley around, he is averaging an additional 2.3 rebounds compared to when they share the floor, equating to 11.8 rebounds per game. Allen has put up 11 or more rebounds in nine of his last ten games against Bam dating back to his time with Brooklyn.

With the amount of missing pieces for Cleveland, someone is going to have to step up. Look for that guy to be Georges Niang. When he has played 24 minutes or more, he has exceeded this number in 16-of-24 games, averaging 12.7 points per game. It really wouldn’t be all that surprising for him to play closer to 30 minutes in this one, and 11 points isn’t asking for much with that sort of time on the floor.

Parlay Odds: +575
