Utah Jazz @ Oklahoma City
- Leg 1: Oklahoma City Thunder -14.5 (-108)
- Leg 2: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 30.5 Points (-125)
- Leg 3: Isaiah Hartenstein to Record a Double-Double (-135)
Oklahoma City will be playing to keep their NBA Cup dreams alive on Tuesday against a Utah Jazz team who are unfortunately already out of the race. The Thunder are over 20 points behind in the standings and will need assistance from Dallas in the form of a loss against Memphis. We expect the Thunder to put up as many points as possible considering the Mavericks will also be playing around the same time. If Oklahoma City can create a large enough point differential tonight, and Dallas loses, they have a chance to survive to the next phase of the tournament.
The Thunder own the highest defensive rating and defensive efficiency in the NBA. Oklahoma City is also allowing the second-fewest amount of points per game (104). Limiting Utah from scoring shouldn't be a problem, yet we are more concerned about the Thunder scoring. Which we expect them to do so in large volume tonight.
Oklahoma City is currently averaging 114 points each contest on 45.9% shooting from the field, with 13.5 three-pointers made on 34.4% shooting. The Thunder have only lost two games this season at home. In those victories, the team averaged a 16-point differential from their opponents.
The Thunder need to win by the largest deficit possible. They already average 16 points more per win at home. This is a heavier spread than we are comfortable with on most nights. Having said that, it makes complete sense to jump on the Thunder winning by 14.5+ points this evening.
How will the Thunder manage to outscore their opponent by such a large margin you ask? Well, they could always let Shai Gilgeous-Alexander go absolutely wild, and that's exactly what we are banking on. Utah may not have an answer for the lethal scoring prowess he provides, and the extra scoring incentive is music to our ears.
Gilgeous-Alexander is currently averaging just under 30 points a contest (29.9). Tonight he faces a Jazz team allowing 117.9 points each contest on 47.8% shooting from the field. When on the road, as they will be this evening, Utah concedes over 120 points per game on 48.6% shooting.
Gilgeous-Alexander has scored at least 32 points or more in five of his last seven games and is averaging over 33 points on 49.1% shooting over the previous five contests. This is an outstanding spot for him and we confidently feel he clears the massive 30.5-point threshold at home against Utah.
We close out the parlay with another player in an incredibly favorable matchup - Isaiah Hartenstein. Since returning from injury on November 20, Hartenstein has been an absolute force in regards to rebounds. Without Chet Holmgren on the floor, Hartenstein has been crucial for the Thunder as their main rebounding option. In five games played, the Thunder center is averaging over 13 rebounds in 31.6 minutes each contest.
Utah is allowing over 11 offensive rebounds per game, as well as 15 points scored off of second-chance opportunities. The Jazz are also surrendering 51 points in the paint each contest - the seventh-highest amount in the league.
Hartenstein has covered the double-double prop in all five games played. When you factor in the added incentive to keep the starting unit on the floor to maximize point differential, the table is set for the Thunder center to make it a six double-doubles in as many games.
Good luck with your parlays.
