Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics

The game of the night will be the rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals.

The Celtics lost that matchup, but they might not feel as down because they are the reigning champions. They are looking good to win back-to-back championships; they are the only team in the league in the top five in adjusted offensive rankings (first) and defensive ranking (third).

You need an excellent perimeter defense to beat this team because they are one of the league’s best mid-range and three-point shooters. If they hit those, they can build a significant lead.

Golden State can exchange those deep shots with Boston and are third in three-point shot distribution. The Warriors made some changes as they've had lackluster results the last two seasons. This needed to happen because they were barely a Play-In team the last couple of seasons, and now they are 6-1.

They are not just offensively minded; they also rank better defensively, at fifth in adjusted defensive ranking compared to tenth in adjusted offensive ranking.

Even though these teams play defensively well, their offenses will be the focus. They've exceeded this total in three of their last four matchups.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets

The Thunder look ready to be a championship contender and remain one of the two undefeated teams in the league. Defensively, no one is better, as they are the only team allowing under 100 points per game (95.9).

They aren’t all defense. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is exceptional, scoring 25.7 points (12th), but his 6.9 assists (11th) show that he gets his teammates involved, including Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams. Do not be surprised if they get another scorer to try to bolster this offense for a championship run.

To be the best, you have to beat the best, and they have a challenge going into Denver facing a recent former champion. Nikola Jokic has won three of the last four MVPs and is in the top five in points, assists, and rebounds.

It’s unusual to see the Nuggets as a six-point home underdog, but that's how good the Thunder look. OKC could pull off this win, but with the help of Joker, the Nuggets can still cover.
