NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (1/12)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks! Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight's NBA action. Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (1/12/24)

Season record: 105-61

Nikola Jokic (C – DEN): OVER 0.5 double doubles

Jokic got back on track on Wednesday, adding to his double double sheet for the first time in three games. He has recorded a double double in nine of his past 11 games but has not recorded a triple double in almost a month. This is the only reason he is on the board long enough to be included in this column, so take advantage of this multiplier booster where possible. His two game stretch without a double double proved that he is human after all, but he is still an excellent bet to post at least 10 and 10 whenever he is on the court. Jokic has 32 double doubles in 38 games played (84.2 percent). Tonight, he faces off against a New Orleans Pelicans team that he has dropped two triple doubles on this season. Jab the More on Jokic for Friday night's slate.

Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): OVER 0.5 double doubles

The double double King just keeps on rolling for the Sacramento Kings. Now routinely on the board with a lower multiplier than Nikola Jokic, Sabonis double double is the highest probability play on Sleeper Picks for any sport aside from the 99 percent promo lines. Sabonis has recorded a double double in 19 straight games and in 33 of 37 games overall (89.1 percent). Tonight, he faces off against a 76ers team that is one of the best in the league in terms of limiting rebounds to the center position but still allows an exploitable 13.33 per contest. Slap the More on Sabonis for Friday night.

Immanuel Quickley (G – TOR): OVER 4.5 assists

Quickley continues to shine as the point guard for the Toronto Raptors and is securing himself a big bag this summer. He has intimated that he would like to stay in Toronto, but management will likely have to meet his terms, and the asking is rising each game. IQ has recorded five or more assists in five straight games and is someone we are going to ride with at 4.5 until the wheels fall off (or Sleeper Picks increases it to 5.5 or higher). Tonight, Quickley faces off against a Utah Jazz team relinquishing a league-high 10.40 assists per game to the point guard position. Tap the More on IQ for Friday night.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
