NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (12/13/23)

Season record: 61-40

Alperen Sengun (C – HOU): OVER 19.5 points

Sengun's point total has finally dropped low enough to put it back on the value radar. The Turkish big man scored 15 and 17 in his last two games. He shot .500 in both, so it wasn't an efficiency problem but rather a volume issue. Sengun has recorded 20 or more points in 10 of his last 13. He had his lowest volume night of the season the last time the Rockets faced Memphis, so there is some concern, but the Grizzlies have allowed 20.58 points per game to the center position. This is the sixth-lowest total in the league but provides just enough room for this to be an attractive play, especially considering Sengun's talent. As long as he stays aggressive, Sengun should hit at least 20 points against Jaren Jackson Jr. and the Memphis Grizzlies. Slap the More on Sengun for Wednesday night.

Brandon Ingram (G/F – NOP): OVER 23.5 points

Ingram has been excellent this season, averaging 22.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He has scored 20 or more points in all but four games this season. Ingram's total takes on extra intrigue tonight due to Zion Williamson being listed as questionable. As good as B.I. has been this season, he has been even better when Zion is not on the court, averaging 26.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game. Now, while that is just a three game sample, Ingram thriving when Zion is sidelined, is nothing new. His opponent tonight doesn't get much better as the Washington Wizards have relinquished a league-high 25.75 points per game to the position. Bump the More on Ingram if Zion is ruled out.

Gordon Hayward (G/F – CHA):  OVER 16.5 points

Hayward has been providing some much-needed scoring punch with LaMelo Ball sidelined, dropping 17 or more points in each of his last five games. Two of those were 17 on the dot, so this total is right on the edge of value. He dropped 17 on Miami on Monday, and with the Heat surrendering 20.30 points per game to the position, there is enough room to make this one of the standout totals of the day. Hit the More on Hayward for Wednesday night.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
