NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/27)

Welcome to Sleeper Picks! Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/27/24)

Season record: 183-118

Cade Cunningham (G – DET): OVER 5.5 1st quarter points

Cade has been locked in to start games for the Detroit Pistons, scoring six or more first quarter points in eight of his last 10 games. The two games he failed to hit at least six in the first were both against Miami. Cade should be fired up for a game against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, something that should help propel him to at least six first quarter points, barring, of course, a freezing cold start to the night from the field. Clap the More on Cade for Wednesday night.

Lauri Markkanen (F – UTA): UNDER 1.5 steals + blocks

Markkanen has actually bucked his less than two StOck trend, securing two or more in each of his last four games. However, Lauri is dealing with a quad contusion that should slow him down enough to stop his mini StOck run. This has been one of the highest probability plays all season for a reason. Before his mini-run, Markkanen had recorded fewer than two StOcks in 13 of 14 games. Light up the More on Lauri for Wednesday night, but if he plays and has another two StOck night and this total doesn’t rise, this will be a play to fade until he cools down.

Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): OVER 4.5 1st quarter points

MPJ continues to start hot for the Denver Nuggets, scoring five or more first quarter points in 12 of his last 13 games and in 16 of his last 18 overall. MPJ put up six first quarter points when he played the Suns last month. He was listed at 5.5 in each of his last two games, so we are getting a discount because he is listed as questionable (illness) for the matchup against Phoenix. If MPJ is active tonight, fire up the More.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
