NC State Wolfpack vs. Purdue Boilermakers (-9.5) / O/U 146.5 (-110/-110)
NC State is the Cinderella of the dance. Can they extend the night or will the clock strike 12? The offense is excelling, scoring over 75 points in three of the four games. Their defense has been fantastic, too. This extends back to the ACC tournament, where they've allowed under 40% shooting in six of their last seven games. The one? Duke in the ACC quarterfinals but they did it to them in the Elite 8. DJ Burns has become a sensation throughout the Wolfpack's run, averaging 18.2 points. Mohamed Diarra has 11.7 rebounds. They have proven to be one of the toughest frontcourts in the tournament.
They will need all that put together to stop Zach Edey. He has the chance to do something that has only happened twice and not in over 40 years: Become a back-to-back Naismith College Player of the Year. He's been the most dominant player in this tournament, averaging 30 points and 16.2 rebounds.
Burns and Diarra will be all over Edey throughout this game. Purdue might have to depend on their outside shooting to win. Their perimeter and three-point defense are where NC State has excelled. The Boilermakers could eventually figure out the Wolfpack but it shouldn't be by more than a couple of possessions.
